Hey floofle, you're right! I tried it again and it seems to be working. I'm in a different service area, Unicel Plus, but it just verified and and few other things are working. I'll post again if I have additional problems :D

The Google weather short code test worked perfectly. Actually, here's something wacky: after not trying the verification process for the past 2 weeks, I decided on a whim to try it again, and the phone actually VERIFIED. I don't know if Unicel changed something, or if Twitter changed something, but *somebody* did, because now it works for me. If you haven't tried it recently, give it another shot. I was about to post that I was having the same problem. I am running Mac OS X 10.4.11. Could NOT delete with Safari 3.x or Camino 1.6, but Firefox 3.0b5 worked like a champ.

Which makes me think that maybe the FAQ is incorrect or outdated in saying no short codes are supported. I'm in the same boat here w/ a Unicel phone btw. I'm tempted to call Unicel, but the chances of getting someone who can help w/ this is pretty low. – lepht, on May 12, 2008 17:12

Darn, I wasn't aware Cellular One and Unicel were the same company. I guess that explains that. As originally states, I have confirmed that sending to certain shortcodes (Google weather) DOES work, yet there is no response in messaging Twitter's shortcode (any of them). – Hulex, on May 12, 2008 16:48

That FAQ states the Cellular One doesn't support short codes. Cellular One and Unicel are ran by the same company, with different branding in different markets. floofle, you can confirm that some short codes do work for you? Which ones?

I'm having this problem too - been trying to fix it for the past MONTH with no success, and getting royally frustrated with Twitter. Shortcodes do work, but Twitter's do not. I'm also on Unicel.
