Todd replied on December 21, 2009 17:28 to the problem "Can't update/use chdiff tool" in Connected Flow:
Hey Frasier, an update on this:
I removed these files:
/Applications/Changes.app
~/Library/Preferences/com.skorpiostech.Changes.plist
~/Library/Preferences/com.skorpiostech.Changes.LSSharedFileList.plist
then i re-installed and re-licensed Changes.app, and all is well now. the chdiff tool is working correctly, and I've successfully gotten Changes.app working as my git diff tool as well.
life is beautiful. pls ignore the issue above :)
thx.
Todd reported a problem in Connected Flow on December 19, 2009 16:43:
Can't update/use chdiff toolHi Frasier,
I'm running Mac OS 10.6.2 on a unibody macbook pro.
I have the latest version of Changes installed:
Changes 1.5.6/524 is currently the newest version available.
I tried to install the chdiff tool by using the Changes -> Install Terminal Utility... menu item.
The chdiff exe appears to be present:
$ which chdiff
/usr/bin/chdiff
however, now every time I launch Changes.app, it either hangs completely or displays this a dialog:
Your chdiff utility is out of date. Would you like to upgrade it?
Clicking update changes nothing. every launch of Changes.app still results in either a hang or the same dialog.
chdiff usage from Terminal.app does not appear to work:
/usr/bin/chdiff foo.txt bar.txt
does nothing and produces no output in the terminal.
I LOVE Changes.app, and have used it successfully with Versions.app in my subversion workflow for over a couple of years now. I'm switching to git for some projects and would really like to get chdiff working with git as the external diff tool as described in the wiki, but this is blocking.
hope you can help. :)
Todd replied on November 26, 2009 04:54 to the problem "no email unsubscribe option" in CoTweet:
Hey guys,
Just received another apparent mass email from you which does not contain an "unsubscribe" option (again, apologies if it is there and I could not find it). It is titled "Is CoTweet for you?" I can guess that you will argue that this is a "personal" email rather than a "mass" email, but please take it from me, this will be perceived as a mass email by your users.
I thought I unsubscribed back when we had the first problem, but i guess not? Maybe I was too distracted by the conversation above to actually unsubscribe.
Once again, I must provide some feedback as i think spam is a serious issue: any email like this one ("mass" or not) with no "unsubscribe" option reflects *extremely* negatively on your service and company. And again, the difficulty in finding the Unsubscribe option on your site makes the situation even worse. Please reconsider your decision to not include the unsubscribe option in the email despite the feedback above.
Anyhow, this spammy email has convinced me CoTweet is not for me, and I have deleted my account, so you won't have to listen to my rants from now on ;). Good luck in the future.

Todd replied on November 14, 2009 07:46 to the problem "Extremely high CPU usage - GoogleVoice, Pandora, Etc" in Fluid:
hey aceytech,
i'm pretty sure this is due to the issue with the Flash plugin in the current version of Fluid: hiding a window showing flash content causes error messages to be logged to the console at an extremely high rate, thus spiking processor usage.
i've fixed this issue in Cruz already, and it will be released in the next version of Fluid in the next week or two: 0.9.7
sorry for the issues.

Todd replied on August 11, 2009 16:25 to the problem "no email unsubscribe option" in CoTweet:
hey kyle. an "unsubscribe" link to the settings page you mentioned is exactly what i'm asking for in your emails. In fact the wording you've provided here would work well (if it included a hyperlink):
"You can edit your email notification settings for On Duty & Assignments in the Settings section of the application."
these should be included in every email you send out, regardless of how _you_ think users should perceive any particular email (to _me_, this is just another "mass email" as it is obviously not addressed to me personally)
without this, you are part of the email problem, i'm afraid. :(

no email unsubscribe option- Just received an email from you guys titled "Come back to CoTweet!" with no unsubscribe option anywhere in the email. this is a serious issue. services should never send out mass emailings without this option. it refelcts very negatively on your service :(
if i have somehow missed the unsubscribe link in the email, i appologize.
- additionally, i could not find any preferences for changing the 'receive emails' setting on the cotweet site. (this is also an issue, although less serious than the first issue)-

Todd replied on January 08, 2009 19:01 to the question "two fluid instances, one version, two style of preferences" in Fluid:
yeah, unfortunately, this is a known issue. there's a bug in the preferences framework i'm using. here's the deal:
If you keep the browser toolbar hidden in your Fluid SSB, you will often see a preferences window with only *1* group of panes (the plugin prefs are missing). when there's only one group, you dont see the entire grid, u just see the first pane (General) and the others along the top.
if this happens, and you need to get to the plugin prefs, there is a work around:
1. Show the browser toolbar in your SSB (option-command-T)
2. quit the SSB
3. restart the SSB
4. goto preferences window. notice the plugin groups are there now
sry. i do not have a fix for this. i have tried before, and was unsuccessful.
