Awesome! I love email clients that offer a vertical split for the preview. – James W, on February 04, 2009 23:48-

Inspector photo previewI see the image preview has been updated in 1.0b5 and it looks great, but there's a couple small things bugging me about it.
1) If I receive an email with a bunch of photos attached, I can't just click on different images to look at them. I have to first click out of the preview, then click on another photo. I tried double-clicking on the thumbnails, but that only counts as one click.
2) Also, I think many people would expect an X in the top corner of the preview to close the new window. Even some text across the bottom stating "click anywhere to close" might work. Some people are lost without a specific button or instruction to continue with.

I think the first few messages should be shown with the subject, sender, and their icon, which would bring up that specific message when clicked on. If there are more than 5, the rest could be condensed into a notification stating "and 6 more." which would take you to the inbox when clicked. I don't know if this is doable, but I think this would prevent filling the screen with notifications while still giving some detail.

I like the idea, but I think this might be beyond the scope of Postbox as Gmail and Thunderbird store messages in entirely different ways. I wouldn't want multiple copies of every message cluttering my hard drive and slowing down searching.
I can't find any apps that try to work with Gmail's labels themselves, which leads me to believe it hasn't been easy to do and most users just use Gmail directly if they need labels that badly.-

Reminds me a lot of the Adblock plugin for Firefox which lets you filter out any element in the page. I don't know that I'd go as far as links, they're not hurting anything. But image signatures pollute the inspector and when trying to save all attachments.-

James W reported a problem in Postbox on February 03, 2009 22:05:
Todo's not pinning to topI'm just trying to integrate To-Do's into my workflow and I notice they aren't pinning to the top anymore. I remember they did when I first tried Postbox and I was checking out all the features. Now when I check and uncheck View > Pin To-Dos, nothing happens. I'm not sure if this is because I moved some columns around or what. I've tried with conversations shown and without. I'm using Gmail via IMAP.

Dock badge ignoring when messages become marked read on the serverPlease make the dock badge update when messages are marked as read by the server.
I access my gmail account from several places, including imap in Postbox which I leave open 24/7. If I read a message in one place it is of course marked read on the server, which Postbox reflects in the message list. However the dock badge still says there are new messages. I spent 30 seconds looking through all the folders before I realized what was going on. It was an already read message in my inbox causing the dock badge to say there were new messages.

This is the error console upon loading the message then going to resend:
And this is what appears in the compose window when trying to resend:

I suppose I could try removing and re-adding the gmail account. Are there caches somewhere I should clear if I try that?
I tried viewing the source of the message and it starts with
