Paul from Pipes wrote on the help forum:
'If someone can post the IP's that twitterfeed uses to call the Pipes RSS feeds, we can look and see if indeed we are periodically rate limiting them.'

Anyone know the IP?
I have had to stop using Pipes for one important account, and another I have left alone hasn't updated in 12 days!

Good going! I've added my comments there to try and narrow down the issue for them. – Foomandoonian, on June 13, 2009 04:35

I don't see MotD listed on iPlayer. I presume you mean on /programmes? - http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00j49r0 - which I agree, does imply that the content should be on iPlayer at some point.

I can confirm, as the current 'owner' of http://twitter.com/notvirginmedia , that it is Twitter policy to hand over any contested account without first discussing the issue with the little guy.
Probably something to do with their business model. The fix? Suck it up, I guess. (I suspect this answers the question)-

Ahh, http://ping.fm/pingout/ - Yeah, that's better, but we still need a neater solution. – Foomandoonian, on August 23, 2008 11:11

Yeah, that works, but if you follow a link, it opens in the main window, and the page is too wide for the sidebar, IMO. – Foomandoonian, on August 23, 2008 10:07

Can we have a setting to NOT shorten links by default?I understand that butting an *asterisk before a link stops them getting ping-ified, but this is easy to forget. I'd like to turn this feature off by default. A good compromise would be to offer a choice of alternative shortening services, as I like to use Bit.ly or Tweetburner.
Alternatively, you need to make ping-links more fully featured, and include stats and custom keywords, etc.
Small problem, but a big deal for me.
