I don't think that it is a hardware issue. I had the same issue on my late-2006 MBP, and now on my new mid-2009 MBP, so I think that it is some software issue that got transferred over with the Time Machine backup.

Caffeine (the freeware utility) keeps it from happening, as does having anything unsaved open that would force a save dialog on a normal restart.

Does anybody know the cause and a better solution?
