Reducing mute functionality is not a good thingAll of a sudden, I can no longer mute plurkers who are ranked highest in Plurk karma ... 'fess up ... bug, or 'feature'?
A comment on the discussion "some ideas - wishlist" in Plurk:
agrees with one subject per post, and also with participating in current subject-specific posts instead of creating a new one about a subject that has already been addressed. – Greg Fowler, on August 09, 2008 04:55

Frozen Plurk Input BoxA problem that I hoped had been fixed ... the frozen 'plurk input' box which causes you to lose your input ... followed by a 'please try again' graphic (http://fowgre.com/graphics/PlurkTryAg...) when you try to update your timeline. Good news though ... at least it wasn't followed by the 'flooding' graphic (http://fowgre.com/graphics/PlurkAntiF...) this time ;) Oops ... spoke too soon ... here's a new one: http://fowgre.com/graphics/PlurkPageU...

MAAM (Mark All As Muted)Anybody agree that there's some merit in having a "Mark All As Muted" capability? Plurk Permalink: http://www.plurk.com/p/1xcla
Greg Fowler marked one of bronsont's replies in Plurk as useful. bronsont replied to the idea "Plurk Buddy Products!". Greg Fowler and 4 other people think it's one of the best replies.

clickykbd: try friending more than 18 people and find out how "easy" it is to follow the threads that you're involved in, then perhaps I'll think that you're qualified to comment on it.
jery: every plurk has a permalink. click on it to get the responses window, and then look in the bottom RH corner.
clickykbd: bookmark/favorite is used interchangeably all over the Internet. What's more, if you search out the plurks that discuss this issue, you'll find that it's the same on Plurk as well. If you want to be picky about language, my preferred term is 'tag.'

Greg Fowler replied on July 30, 2008 02:26 to the question "Friend vs. Fan?" in Plurk:
clickykbd:
I'm sorry that you don't appreciate the fact that the "friends vs fans" concept is directly linked to the karma discussion, because that's what the A-Team has suggested so far (mind you, a lot of problems might not be problems if they were better at communicating with users...and yes I'm glad that they're participating here finally, but even here they're not doing a good enough job IMO).
What's off-topic here is the discussion of cliques, so I'll simply note that so far it may be a brilliant 'concept' but so far it hasn't been implemented very well.

Again, good points Mark. I'll add this and then wait for Amir to reply. I was of the impression that the A-Team was trying to encourage more interaction between users when they suggested restraint in 'friending' other users. But if that was the case, then better plurk:responses ratios would be rewarded via the karma algorithm; however, it's obvious from even a cursory comparison of karma trends that Plurk doesn't reward higher ratios.
Greg Fowler replied on July 29, 2008 21:54 to the question "Friend vs. Fan?" in Plurk:
Amir: simply copying/pasting your previous "There is no hit in making people fans." answer is rather insulting to the questioner, don't you think? If that reply had answered the inquiry, he wouldn't have felt that the follow-up was necessary. And may I take this opportunity to say that Plurk's documentation (English-language at least) generally leaves a lot to be desired?
I also would like some further clarification of this, because Mark didn't specify that he was only concerned with the potential impact upon himself. As I understand it, if somebody asks me for 'friend' status and I turn down their request, they suffer a karma hit. Are you saying something else now? Are you saying that if I grant their 'friend' request and subsequently 'unfriend' them that neither one of us will suffer a karma hit? Also, all of clickykbd's points are excellent and hopefully be answered. In short, this subject is a long way from being satisfactorily answered.-

Jery: allow me to help clear up your confusion. Kathy has applied for an advertised position with Plurk (I think) but I have not. I don't believe that the position as described is what users of the service need. I'm not trying to impress Plurk and I'm not trying to raise public support for myself. As a Plurk user who thinks that there's a serious communication problem that needs to be solved, I'm simply voicing my own personal opinion.

Marking Plurks as 'Read'Often, when I click on "Mark All As Read" the Plurk server comes back a minute later with "100 unread" or something similar. Is this feature really supposed to mark "all" as read or is there a language problem here again? Maybe the Plurk server is only serving users blocks of unread messages to deal with at a time?

Bookmarking PlurksThis keeps coming up in plurks virtually every day, but I don't see a thread about it here. I'm referring to the desire expressed by many plurkers for some way for users to mark the plurks that they want to follow. It's really annoying to start participating in an interesting discussion and not be able to find it again amid the constant barrage of new plurks and responses.
