Fox Mulder replied on August 23, 2008 17:27 to the question "iPhone interface to IWS?" in I want Sandy:
1) Done
2) Done
3) I don't have a problem linking to the the I Want Sandy Login. I just wanted to create something that looked more native to the iPhone interface. Yeah if someone else hacked into my server they could change it. I have now changed it back to the official site log in page.
This "code" is not personal to any specific user. Anyone can use this site at the iPhoneSandy.com address which I think makes it simple. Sure you can host it on your server and you would just be a duplicate place to do the same thing. (there is a version I have in mind for specific users but I am a young jedi and would need to do more training with a yoda)
I would probably think it more appropriate for I Want Sandy to host this on their servers.
And no, I have not heard from any "I Want Sandy" people yet if I don't count you guys :-). I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Working on this app earnestly to get a distributable version out. Also rewriting the manual so I get a full understanding of it. I will update and will attempt to have this ready by Friday. This will be something you can run yourself. I am not aiming for the type you log in with your username and password.
I have not heard from Rael yet and hopefully will by Friday.
All the best to all of you-

A comment on the question "Find out the "how likely it is that you would recommend us" rating?" in Get Satisfaction:
To have this be like a natural conversation I suggest that an automatic email to the person when their issue is addressed. This the perfect time to provide them a link to their original rating. The automatic email would help drive traffic around the rating and there is no "asking people to come back" Indeed if the automatic shift to a 10 Rating is justified in their eyes there is no need to ask them to "come back and revisit their rating" at all – Fox Mulder, on August 20, 2008 19:48
Fox Mulder replied on August 20, 2008 18:05 to the problem "Posting a reply takes too long" in Get Satisfaction:
I find this on other comment systems too and not just with Get Satisfaction. I just need to trust it will show up soon. I have been the victim of double postings at times. The kind that kind says "Hey, idiot over here! Two times"
However, maybe a little text indicating it may take a little while next to the "post reply" button would help reassure if this is occurs a lot.
or an ajax type confirmation text on submit.
I'd be interested to here what others say.
Fox Mulder replied on August 20, 2008 18:01 to the question "Find out the "how likely it is that you would recommend us" rating?" in Get Satisfaction:
I like the idea and wonder if actual phrases better help clarify. Maybe you are not into doing a whole amazon rating type system but if someone give the company a 7 rating. I am sure the company and other users would want to know what is between that and a 10 rating.
In fact, maybe a follow up question that asks. "In one sentence (or whatever characters you limit it to) what would make this a 10 for you?"
If a developer or company implements this idea a follow up email system could go out to the user when the company provides this feature, the rating would automatically be changed to a 10 and the customer would have a link to change back if they felt it didn't meet their original request
This would provide almost a digg like feedback loop for the company or developer.
Fox Mulder replied on August 20, 2008 17:43 to the idea "User ratings?" in Get Satisfaction:
I also like the idea of a "satisfied" number to indicate the number of questions has satisfied. Like "42 people got satisfaction" from this user. This helps quantify a person's individual contribution. Of course the phrasing can be different like
Over 41 satisfied
42 Satisfactory Rating
12 ideas implemented.
Hopefully down the line a company may set up something to provide a prize to the most helpful person of the month probably something related to the product or service they are offering.
A comment on the problem "Insulting default password" in Get Satisfaction:
Thank you for contributing to our urban vocabulary.
It must be a message from the universe since "yiff" is the mating call for "FOXES" and my name is Fox. Maybe this is not random at all. If that computer had not spit this out this post and the time wasted creating would not have existed at all. I and everyone else would never have known what a Yiff is! Whoa! Thanks again! – Fox Mulder, on August 20, 2008 16:49
Fox Mulder replied on August 20, 2008 15:56 to the problem "Insulting default password" in Get Satisfaction:
I don't see the problem. This is one of those rare passwords that would definitely be hard to forget! I can't even forget it and it is not my password.
Other than the initial thought of thinking the computer or company is insulting your personally, you should use it as an opportunity to say that right back to the company every time you sign in.
Dude, you won the password lottery!
Also maybe it is actually not saying what you think. I think you just need to figure out what a yff is because then you can read this totally differently.

I would love to touch base with Rael on this and get his input before putting this out. For now, you can use the quick and dirty version above using Rushmsg. Hopefully, I'll hear from him soon. I'll be tweaking this until then. This Get Satisfaction thing gives the sense these discussions being watched by employees but without a "last signed in on" or PM feature it seems you have to guess when they were on last or how contact them. I would have expected some input from him by now. Maybe I just have a misunderstanding as to how this all works. – Fox Mulder, on August 20, 2008 15:35
Fox Mulder replied on August 19, 2008 18:39 to the question "iPhone interface to IWS?" in I want Sandy:

Some of you may say why should I use a web site to create my tasks to Sandy when I can just create an email from my iPhone. Heck, I can even use notes. The picture above illustrates a perfect reason why.
If you cannot avoid typing on the iPhone some prefer to type large landscape rather the pushed up portrait. Using this Sandy iPhone interface you can type all your text beforehand in large landscape.
A comment on the idea "Mobile site for iwantsandy?" in I want Sandy:
I designed this for the iPhone so I guess yeah this should work on a normal mobile browser since I am only using form elements. I have not tried this in those environments. – Fox Mulder, on August 19, 2008 13:10
