Hi Chris,
Yes it is turned on and the location works perfectly for google maps and poynt and my own app that I wrote that reads the GPS. I know where the cell towers are and I can see that it is getting the closest cell tower unfortunately. Again, I am running the beta 5.0.0.230 OS because I had so many problems with the 4.7 OS, so maybe you only support/tested with the stock 4.7 OS?
Thanks for responding. I have coded several apps for myself, so I am very willing to help debug with a beta or a logging version if you have that option.

Frank asked a question in Loopt on November 10, 2009 14:25:
Blackberry Tour not using GPSI have a Blackberry Tour and was so excited to see that it was finally supported. So I downloaded it last night and while it runs, the location is always using the cell tower, not my GPS. I am running OS 5.0.0.230 on a Sprint Tour where the GPS works fine for every other GPS app. Is there something I have to do to make it work?

It has been a month now with no response from Loopt. Are you still hoping to support the Tour? Or have you determined that the broken GPS chip thact causes Google Maps such a problem is going to make it so you also cannot work? I am not sure why this can't work given that a free software called GPS Logger works just fine. I went for a bike ride last night and it tracked my movements very well using my Tour. I saw it perfectly in Google Earth once I downloaded the saved positions to my computer about every 30 seconds which I would think would be often enough for Loopt.
Please give us some kind of update. I really miss Loopt since I had it on my 8330.
