I found a workaround - go to about:config in your address bar and modify the setting powertwitter.ptPrefPassword (add your password after username| )-
A comment on the problem "Why does Top Friends say I don't have any when I do?" in 83 Degrees:
Narendra, I disabled *all* my add-ons, restarted FF several times, and still had the issue - top friends don't save, top friends view doesn't finish loading. Also upgraded from FF 3.0 to 3.5.2. Also, when I add a top friend, it replaces powertwitter.ptPrefTopFriends in the config settings, doesn't append, so I can only have one top friend! I add a friend, refresh that friend's profile, and the link is reset to "add as top friend" rather than "top friend" – Franky, on August 27, 2009 12:41 -

Top Friends not saved and not loadingTop friends isn't working for me :-(
1. I can supposedly add a top friend from a profile, but when I refresh the profile, it's back to "Add as top friend" again.
2. My friends list in about:config powertwitter.ptPrefTopFriends only stores one friend at a time - doesn't let me save multiple friends. Each time I add a new friend, the setting is replaced rather than added to.
3. When I click on the Top Friends link to view my friends's posts, it sits on loading forever.
I'm using Firefox 3.5.2. I have an earlier version of FF at work, which also does the same thing. -

I have this problem too. I had FF 3.0 and have now upgraded to 3.5.2 and the password doesn't save in either version. The other preferences do save. At my office computer, the password saved, but the Top Friends don't load, the page just goes on loading forever.
I really really want this feature as it's one of the things I most keen on having in twitter. Please help! -
