Still isn't converting... must be more to it as other documents on the same page are converting. A few other documents like the one above are not converting as well. – FRI, on November 11, 2009 03:16

I look forward to seeing these changes (as well as the addition of the share feature in the embed version). If the embed opened with the same functionality as smartlook there would be no issue. Please hurry.. as a PRO user who has requested this a long time ago I am eager and frustrated.

In addition...
This document "FLMF Access Management Presentation" on the same page as the documents above (http://foothillsresearchinstitute.ca/...) was uploaded at the same time and is not converting at all (and I downloaded it yesterday to get the conversion going)

Any movement on this? I love the embedded viewer but it does need a share feature that functions like smartlook. Or else I might have to start embedding a thumbnail linking to the pdf so it open like smartlook.
As well, get rid of the "powered by issuu" branding for pro users on the mini-viewer... might have to switch back to free if the white label product still has heavy branding up front.

I am not to worried abotu the descritpion field but the title field I am... I woudl liek to use the RSS capabilities on my sites news feed but the titles that show up from ISSUU give you no idea what the publication is sometime. At least if the title was the same as the pdf title we would be in better shape.
There should be an option to edit a publication from smartlook and then turn it live. So a user clicks on it after it has been uploaded, it goes to issuu, converts, then I log-in review the document title, description and make sure it is what I want then publish it. Then we users click on it in the site it is named properly and the RSS feed is clean as well.

It will also allow downloading (which could be turned on our off depending on the embeddign document and preference of the document manager).
I had an issue with the share feature in the full screen version and by making it default to the smarlook display first it woudl solve this issue as well (see other thread)

Thanks Martin... there is another thread going that talks about having embedded documents open first like smartlook by default. This way this issue is resolved and there si the added functionality of the smarlook set-up (including download, search, etc...) As well, since I use smarlook, everyhting woudl fucntion consistently.
Cheers

Thanks Martin, I hope to see these changes soon... will eb much easier to convince the crew to pay for the pro service. I wish I had time (or money to pay someone) to play with platform but I don't... it would be great is this was an "out-of-the-box" feature of issuu (for pro users).... or at least you had a few choices to select from for the share feature (in both smartlook and regular pubs).
As well, for pro users no embedding... or a way to turn it off or on woudl be nice.

FRI replied on May 18, 2009 22:29 to the question "Share feature in embedded document viewer is not cool... help?" in Issuu:
Exactly... it still does it... check out this page with our current annual report http://foothillsresearchinstitute.ca/...
When you click on the embedded viewer it goes full screen and you have the envenope button. It then does what Prdolmos outline dabove. I LIKE that there is a share feature in full-screen embedded viewers but it needs behave like it does in smarlook.
I have been a pro user for a while and the share option just showed up. As mentioned in a few of my other posts, the share feature is great but the link needs to go to the stylized version and not to issuu website (especially for pro users) - i know I can mess with this in the platform but I dont have that level of expertise, time to play with it, or $ to have someone play with it... woudl eb great of thsi was default functionality.
Cheers,
- Sean

As well, when people share the publication the email you recieve also goes to this same link... both should go to the stylized version not to issuu's website (especially for pro users)... it would also be great if this email coudl be branded for the publications host - thsi way people don't think it is spam and the publications owner gets some branding/exposure in the email.

Now that I look at it the addition of the share feature and print feature is nice but the share function needs to function like it does in smartlook. As well, the addition of a "search" and "download" buttons to the full-screen viewer would also be a nice addition. Since I use smarlook and embedded viewers on our site it woudl be great if they functioned as similar as possible.
