Still they tell me they are unaware of any issues with the X1600 GPU!

I have emailed all Apple User Groups in Australia and NZ and I'm now working my way through the US groups. Any help with the rest of the world's user groups would be nice. Here's a link to Apple's user group page...

Halfway down the page is a drop down menu for other countries. Then there's Twitter and FaceBook but I don't know anything about those. Perhaps someone more savvy...

Same issues on my 2.16 GHz 20" machine w the ATI X1600 card from late 2006. No help from Appple whatsoever. They claim they now nothing about any graphic problems with my model. I don't think anything short of a law suit will convince them.

I spoke to soon. Problems also on 1280x800 res.

The horizontal lines are there more often than not now. I had them straight on startup this morning and the computer froze twice. After throwing my pen and rubber pen holder across the room and cursing a lot I had an idea. I turned my screen resolution down from 1680x1050 to 1280x800 and I have had no lines or freezes for the rest of the day! Btw, the graphic glitches never appear when I run Windoze under Boot Camp. I have the 20" 2.16GHz white iMac with the ATI X1600 card running 10.5.8.

Same issues here with horizontal lines of pixels of various colors, freezing with fading to white or vertical multicolored lines. I live in Australia and Apple Australia have shown no interest whatsoever, denying any knowledge of the problem. I have SMC fan control installed but lately it has made no difference.
