Thanks for the compliment, but if anyone is to be commended, it would have to be the host "Guessed" who hosts a TalkShoe help show here: http://www.talkshoe.com/talkshoe/web/...

We walked through some basic steps which I had previously gone through, then tried two different VOIP clients before making a connection. First was SJPhone, which gave an infinite loop of button-tones before timing out and failing the connection. The second was Gizmo5, which has worked beautifully. Last night between 4am and 5am Central, I was finally able to conduct an hour-long test call with no interruptions and no noticeable lag. The recording had excellent quality.

Either way, you're right about my ISP. It's Comcast, and they've become quite infamous for these sorts of things as of late. Even Congress seems to think so :)

What I've discovered, sans ShoePhone connectivity, is that your TalkShoe software was working exactly as intended with the grayed-out buttons, and actually, it was working in a way any competent developer would have it. It doesn't make much sense to have control over a recording session you aren't connected to, after all.

Anyway, thank you for the thorough response. Coupled with the gentleman with the help show, you could say I'm more than impressed with the TalkShoe community. Best wishes!

The TalkShoe Pro Client won't allow me to record or talk.
I'm able to connect to shows, but the host of the show is unable to un-mute me. The button is grayed out entirely. Similarly, when I'm attempting to host a show, I have the same issue, but the "Start" and "Terminate" buttons are grayed out, as is the "Next in Queue" button.

I have tried this from two PCs on Firefox 3, Internet Explorer 6 and Firefox 2, using both Windows XP Professional and Windows XP Home. Both PCs enable sound and have microphones and headphones connected. I have disabled the Windows firewall (I don't have another firewall) and the router firewall, to no avail. TalkShoe Pro is installed, I'm registered for an account and have a PIN number when trying to use the ShoePhone, which says it is connected. I have Java 6 and the latest version of Shockwave/Flash. The microphones and headphones have been tested and do work.

What do I need to do to make this work? I have no problem connecting to other internet services nor do I have problems hearing the calls as they're recorded. Here's a screenshot of what I'm experiencing.

UPDATE: I went to the trouble of taking the cable off the side of my house, rerouted it through the basement, moved the cable modem and router down there and slapped it all back together and made a wired connection to the internet with the router, and directly into the back of the cable modem. Still--nothing. Please help!

UPDATE x2: Still won't work, but I noticed that when I launch the client, it says it's still awaiting the Host to join in the "Live Now" list.
