Thanks Lesley. I was just curious to know how things were progressing. Really looking forward to SMS updates (would they be free to receive but cost to send - like Twitter? If so, then I'd be interested in switching over between platforms BrightKite has a lot more to offer!) – CannonGod, on July 01, 2008 23:12

We're working on getting things in place to support international SMS, but we don't have an ETA just yet. We know this is frustrating for a lot of our users, so please bear with us. :) – Lesley, on July 01, 2008 22:35

Jordan Running's reply to "Whats the email address I should send updates to?" was just promoted to the most useful! fronbow and 2 other people think it's one of the best replies.

I'm not affiliated at all with this guy or product, but I stumbled upon it and have used it with great success on my WM 6.1 phone. http://www.luisespinosa.com/trackme_e...
I use it w/my GPS. It writes KML files and uploads them to Google, where I can then track my movements nearly Live. It has an option to look for 'friends' but I assume those are just people that use the service. Where I live, there are never any. But if this guy can schelp together something like this, I assume BrightKite can out-do this. Real-time /semi realtime tracking of friends etc. Every location (address etc) can be converted to GPS coordinates.. and vice versa. This is more like what I thought/hoped BrightKite would be about.

I would love this in a mobile client. I too have a GPS enabled phone. It would be nice to see visually locations of friends inside Google Maps or Msn Live Search!! I'm surprised it's not here yet, since this is a mobile client. Please pay more attention to WM phones since GPS capable phones are getting more common.
