...really, I liked the part where it WORKED.
This is a very powerful collaboration and ideas tool. I do very much suggest you (Actinic towers) use this tool more often, to collaborate with your people.
Use as an opinion and research tool is great, not only for a bug hunting tool.
Live long and prosper.

i can confirm that regarding the degree of difference when you upload, the merge can take longer, but i can see no status of whats actually going on.
no crashes, no errors.
it never failed for me, but after a hid a major section, and re-uploaded, it sat there and looked crashed for 5 mins, then let me click 'ok'.
perhaps some sort of status there?
Gabriel Crowe replied on May 05, 2009 12:03 to the problem "Hidden Section/Sub-Sections - Products appear in search results" in Actinic:
when testing i had uploaded this site into the 'test' mode.
when a search happens, it uses the same perl, and yeilds results from the original site.
so, hiding an item appeared to have this effect, but in reality, its not.
you can still have the snappy, but i'm afraid it was only confusion on my part.

I cannot replicate this issue, across 3 very different sites, across 3 very different servers. 1 Shared, 1 Dedicated and 1 VPS.
Furthermore, the sites are heavily modified (i have had my fingers in them).
All the systems are XP, with less than 2gb ram. They are however quite clean, with respect to the amount of software in there.
It all went swimmingly for me.

Gabriel Crowe asked a question in Actinic on May 05, 2009 10:07:
No more spinny things on the Check and send dialog?'Check and send files' is more compact, and displays more information on the amount of files and things happening. I like that, but have you gotten rid of the spinney things next to the list items?
I like spinney things.

Turned out nice again.904 just upgraded www.skateasylum.co.uk without any problems whatsoever.
My only concern is that i now have to add in a load of mods i made, I'd much prefer if i was asked what I wanted to do with my scripts, and you diddn't decide to simply overwrite your perl back.
I want the choice to keep a script, or even to compare them. I understand that this isnt what the average joe wants, but how about an 'advanced' button on the part where you tell me you're butchering my hard work and shotting my perl into a cupboard someplace. :)
Mainly, any php mods that worked in the last version, work very well in this one, in fact, bizzarely, performance is up slightly.

Gabriel Crowe shared an idea in Actinic on May 05, 2009 09:47:
Does anyone else think that the toolbar is cluttery? How about we de-clutter the top toolbar? have you noticed how messy it is? does anyone actually use it?
Double the size of critical buttons, such as upload and download, put text hints on them, and drop the others, clean up your interface and wow your customers.
People can always reset the toolbar, if they want.
Gabriel Crowe reported a problem in Actinic on May 05, 2009 09:16:
'Check files dialog' keeps me hanging. I feel lost and alone. If after a default install, I go to Design > Check Coding Errors the default template has no errors, but the dialog box does not really show the state of affairs.
It looks like its still doing things, 'checking section new products' but in reality, the 'ok' box is lit up and i can dismiss it now.
Perhaps complete the percentage bar, and then say 'Done - No errors!', or something similar.
