the opensolaris version of songbird doesn't seem to have any plugins for it. could you compile the remote extension for solaris please? I promise to buy remote pro for my iphone.

why solaris? out of the box it has ZFS support complete with a nice time slider program which is great for backing up thousands of songs / media. also ALSA does not exist outside of linux so I know I'm getting the latest OSS which rocks for an audiophile grade sound server (explained here http://insanecoding.blogspot.com/2009... ) yes I can have OSS in linux but I've tried replacing alsa with oss and it's a pain.

the server will be plugged into a high end usb or firewire DAC.

and viola! a FLOSS audiophile music server with a snazzy songbird (with "coverflow") and songbird remote interface.

right now, without songbird remote, I'm installing VLC so I can use VLC remote. but I'd use songbird remote if I could!
