Thanks Zak, great news. My wife is already frustrated with Windows XP on her new netbook and is anticipating having Jolicloud with relish. The new express installer and theme looks great! I'm sure Jolicloud will go down well in Paris this week.

Zak Kaufman's reply to "when will the pre release of jolicloud will be released" was just promoted to the most useful! Gareth Davies and 2 other people think it's one of the best replies.

The pre-beta will be available on December 10th, both for download and upgrades to the alpha users. The beta will be made available sometime in January, if all goes according to plan.

Will the pre-release is available to those that participated in the alpha testing programme. I've just bought an Acer Aspire One 751 and would like to test it on the GMA500 chip set. We don't want to be running Windows for long ;-)

Screen resolution switching

I tried plugging in a separate monitor today. Jolicloud certainly detected it, but mirroring was restricted to 640 x 480. On unplugging the monitor, the LCD screen returned to it's previous resolution. However, on rebooting, the LCD screen is stuck on 640 x 480 and changes don't take effect in the Display settings.

The reason I tried this was because some dialogue boxes are off the bottom of the screen.

I'm on an eeePC 701 4G.

Seriously impressed with Jolicloud so far on my eeePC 701SD. I have another 701SD running gOS and was really disappointed they did not support 3G access which has meant I was still being forced to use Xandros when out and about. My Merlin XU370 using the XUA-1 PC Card adapter worked first time, fantastic. Couple of ideas / questions ...

1) Might you get an auto-install for Flock so there is a choice of browsers. My favourite browser it works well on gOS, and fits in with many of your social networking concepts.

2) I mention 3G. I'm presently on Vodafone, but an ending the contract soon since you can now officially tether with an iPhone, and will switch. So how is/might the iPhone fit into future plans, particularly with regard to official tethering?

OK, just discovered that Postbox has changed so that the signature is incorporated into the software. I've edited the sig. but can't extend the box to enable a longer signature ie. I can't edit the last few lines of my original signature.

I've just updated the Mac version and the returns at the end of lines are stripped from my signature text file, so it's displaying as one line.

I have the same problem in version 2.0.3 on my Mac. I've tried forgetting my Twitter account and logging in to Twitter, but the People bar will not pick it up. Reluctant to use Chris Campbell's solution as the file described is 43Mb and seems to have all my rss feeds in it as well. In the Message Filters, it would be great to have "Archive" as one of the actions. For example, you could then set up a filter something like:
