Chris Thomson replied on June 21, 2008 17:00 to the problem "Twitterrific problem?" in Twitter:
Twitter returns an error to Twitterrific when you exceed your rate limit. While Twitterrific claims that it is always 70 requests per hour, it is not. Twitter is currently rate limiting, meaning that you might only have 20 requests per hour while they try to get things fixed up.
You can check the Twitter rate limit status on the Twitter Status Blog: http://status.twitter.com
You could also download the latest Twitterrific beta which will automatically adjust to the rate limit for you. Keep in mind, Twitterrific uses up 3 requests on every refresh (one for DMs, one for all replies, one for tweets) so those 20-50 requests get used up pretty quick if you don't allow Twitterrific to adjust your update ratio.
You can download the Twitterrific beta here: http://twitter.com/Twitterrific/statu...
Hope this helps!
