Unison is great! One thing to note, I did use the "perms = 0" option within unison's profile system to disable the permission syncing, but I still run into a problem. It may have to do with the large number of files I'm trying to sync (approximately 40gb). – shanepardue, on June 02, 2008 14:53

Hi,
I tried unison on my ubuntu laptop. One problem is, that unison tries to change file permissions. This is currently not supported by our implementation. Unfortunately this is not a problem I can solve right now, although it would be nice to be able to syncronize with unison (I didn't know this nice tool before, thanks :)).

Copying private files from others and making them publicHi Wuala-Team and everybody else who can answer this question,
I am attending two private groups. When I open the context menue of a file, which was uploaded by another person, I have the possibility to add it to the other group. However I only want to do this. if the file is newly encrypted with my key and the other person's key is not passed on without his control.
Thanks

Thank you to all of you!! First I tried limiting the bandwidth drastically. That didn't help. Then I rebooted my wlan rooter and wuala - it's working again. I don't know, but it seems like my rooter kept the connections up permanently and could not handle them any more. I have a avm fritz!box fon wlan 7050, which is of course not a really new model.

Many home routers can't handle larger numbers of connections (say 100). Though Wuala uses UDP, which is a stateless protocol that does not have connections, some routers still treats UDP traffic as if there were connections and then run into problems. We are aware of this problem. Our planned fix is to offer proxy servers for users with connection problems, so Wuala can be used with only one connection, even if UDP isn't supported at all.

This _is_ the problem. Have the same behavior too. Limiting dl to something aroud 500kb/s have solved it. But in the long run, a good wlan router will be the better way. ;) – bagelcat, on May 15, 2008 06:58

Linux Connection shuts down after a minuteSince I have updated to alpha v.105 (Linux) I am having problems with my connection. It is o.k. for about a minute and then the status turns to yellow and shortly afterwards to red. After a few minutes I get a good connection again, but then it shuts down again and the whole procedure repeats itself. While the connection is down I can't even ping my wlan-router. After shutting down wuala, it takes about a minute and then I can ping my wlan-router again. I have already turned off the file system integration, but that doesn't do any good.
