This wouldn't be easy to implement because it's not legal.

It could be done the other way.
Drag songs from the desktop into the iPod (like Surface does).

When I click on "Pile by Type", everything is okay except that an empty pile is created.

And when I break that empty pile it's gone.

Yes... I can confirm that now. Tried a folder with some thousand files and folders and it took the same 19 seconds.

But rendering the icons take another 2 to 5 seconds. (Slight difference between one or many files).

Always exact 19 seconds for me. Used to take around a minute in the previous build.

When Clicking on "Bump this Folder", the window goes "Not Responding", becomes okay for a fraction of a second, again goes "Not Responding" and then finally folder gets bumped.

I get this problem as soon as bumptop loads. Can't open the context menu... the error appears.

But after some time, the context menu works fine. Couldn't find any specific time interval or anything till now.

By the way, I'm on Vista Ultimate 32-bit.
