    import from mediaplayer
How do I import WPL (windows playlists) into Pacemaker? I don't want to go through them one by one?

Unable to import playlists or shortcuts to MP3 files
When importing tunes using the File / "Inport Music Files" and you choose a shortcut (e.g. "\\10.0.50.3\music2\Steve\Rhoades\The Doors\The Best Of\02 Light My Fire.mp3") because the file path has spaces Windows places quotes around the path, but the import function thinks it is actually a file name so tries to import something like c:\"\\10.0.50.3....
I use shortcuts to enable me to group certain songs without having to have replicated files. I also use playlists but can't find a way of getting the Editor to import a playlist (e.g. .wpl file).
Also, if using the File / Inport Music Directory function - it seems to ignore any shortcuts in a directory.

    Thanks.

    Wow!
Just got my Pacemaker and have to say - it's amazing. I work in the technology sector and its been a long time since anything made me so excited. One problem is I've been shattered at work - having unintentionally sat up till 3am playing with it most nights (my pacemaker that is)!

It's a Wav file, only 4.8k in size. I guess the best option is add the sample to the end of the previous mp3? Its would be nice to be able to add samples (i.e. crowd cheers for example) to a mix? – Gavin, on May 15, 2009 08:58

Using small audio samples (<10 seconds)
I have a small sample I wish to use at the end of my mix (about 10 seconds of speech). Because its so small the analyser returns a "?" for speed, and its impossible to move it onto the Pacemaker.
If its part of a mix and I attempt to move the mix across it says syncronising, but the mix never appears on the pacemaker. Took me a while to notice it was due to this one track.

Change pitch with/without tempo change, then change tempo without pitch change, during a mix?
Hi, I am trying to find out if I can quickly "tune" a track, then beat match it without having to turn timestretching on and off via config? I am trying to find a way of assigning an effect which allows key change (with tempo change), then tempo change without key change?

    Cheers,

    Gavin.

Adding music from network drive causes crash on rerun
If, after adding music to the editor via a UNC (i.e. \\10.0.50.1\music\greattune.mp3) you close the editor and re-open it, none of the tracks play and it causes a GPF.

Cheap wireless / wirefree operation of pacemaker!
    Hey Guys (and Girls),

Having spent ages looking into wireless Mic sets only to find the majoriy are mono, so you need two transmitters (and it gets expensive for something half decent).

Then I started thinking about the new tech available for ipods to stream music to your hifi. After some testing I found a product called Zoom's iHiFi.

Bluetooth used to be poor for music, but after the new AD2P format it can stream High Quality music.

The iHiFi has two components, a universal bluetooth device that plugs (using the included short extension cable) into the Line Out of the Pacemaker. It is charged via USB and can operate for upto 12 hours.

And a receiver unit which is mains powered and has both a 3.5mm jack out and two phonos (left and right). Either connections plug into your decks/stereo or any other amplifier/sound distribution.

You turn them both on, and 3 seconds later your mix is blasting out! And you are free to walk about!

Range isn't bad - it states up to 21 meters, it's a bit less - walls reduce this. And some latency (probably about 100ms)

Costs £50 on amazon (seen some sites with it for £40). Look for this:-

Zoom 4373 iHiFi MP3/iPod Universal Bluetooth Bundle

If you need more range you are probably going to have to look down the UHF route but remember that most Mic Sets or Instrumental Sets are Mono, so you would need two transmitters for each channel - and it would be a real shame to mono your mix!
