A comment on the question "What happens if I hit a Twitter limit?" in Twitter:
actually, it's more than a little infuriating when I've had 50 people follow me in the past 5 days and am unable to follow any of them back. I thought it was blown out of proportion, but now I'm not so sure - this is impacting a lot of people negatively, not spammers. – GeekMommy, on July 22, 2008 19:02-

And is faulty - I can't even follow *1* person for the last few days. This is happening to multiple users - and is now on ZDNet as an issue. – GeekMommy, on July 22, 2008 19:00-

Thanks Bill.
I had done both of these several times - the BIOS showed the battery at 100% as well. I'm guessing at this point that something has happened with the battery that has dropped it's capacity for charge to next to nothing - so 100% charge doesn't mean sustainable power source. I've opted to buy an OEM battery replacement to see if that resolves the situation - if not, I guess I'll have a back-up battery after I have to send the machine in to see what the issue is. I'll post as soon as I've recvd it and seen if that is the fix.
But thank you for the prompt reply.
GeekMommy asked a question in Dell on June 27, 2008 03:48:
Why does battery say 100% charged but Inspiron E1505 dies instantly if AC Adaptor unplugged? Is it the battery or the AC Adaptor - or worse? Dell Inspiron 1505 battery shows 100% charge but unplug the AC Adaptor and it dies instantly. Won't reboot on battery alone.
Have tried a different adaptor (both are Dell), but since battery says it's at 100%, that doesn't change. Of course I'm 2 months past the 1 yr warranty... but it's the uber-expensive 85 WHr 9-Cell Smart Lithium-Ion Primary Battery for Dell Inspiron E1505 Laptops. I'm not really wanting to spend $300 to replace the damn battery when it's only 14 months old.

Gotta agree with David here - not giving me notice of the add so I can block the user only aids the spammer... I'd rather have that control back in my hands, thanks :( – GeekMommy, on June 06, 2008 02:46

Apparently, you don't read terribly well, as I said "I'm not on the Twitter staff - but I'm going to ***guess***" - since they are presently taking steps against spammers - and since one of the ways they are detecting spammers is to look for people USING SCRIPTS TO ADD MASSIVE NUMBERS OF PEOPLE just like you did, the odds are better than not that you were suspended. Not banned, not deleted, suspended. That means someone from their staff will be looking at your account to see if you are a real person or just a spammer.
I don't honestly give a hoot whether you're a spammer or not - doesn't mean a thing to me personally - I was giving you a fairly informed guess as to what has happened and why.
As I said, good luck with getting it restored - hopefully someone actually from Twitter will respond to you eventually. It's the last I'll say about it. – GeekMommy, on June 05, 2008 03:45

rats... I understand why, but it was nice to be able to see who someone was trying to reply to sometimes when they typoed the @username. – GeekMommy, on June 05, 2008 03:22

Thank you - it's good to know it's by design - BUT I'd rather be notified so I can block someone. I'd prefer to have the choice in my hands, not Twitter's. – GeekMommy, on June 04, 2008 21:31

now see, I have been 'off seesmic' forever - go back and everything's white and I can't find anything either. I wanted to know where the black screen with things like settings went! – GeekMommy, on May 29, 2008 03:36-

that's sad... inevitable, but sad... someone else abuses your service AND twitter's and you are the ones being crucified rather than the real abuser. – GeekMommy, on May 23, 2008 21:39
