Maybe it's start to fork our own bird and make it REAL open source ?

remember that Songbird is a media player and the browser is very usable to compare with WMP, iTunes and Winamp ;)

Nice idea, but I think it will requires more work than you think.
Also they will be a regression in Songbird 1.4.1 there will be no longer bookmarks on the service pane.
