A comment on the question "What if I don't want people to know my phone number?" in Loopt:
Yep, same here. I only use my Google Voice and refuse to give out my cellphone number to anybody. Loopt is completely useless to me, too.
Besides, it's a piss-poor unique identifier to use anyways. People sometimes change their phone numbers (e.g. harassing phone calls, people move, etc.) whoever came up with the bright idea to use a cell phone number as a login needs to be flogged. – gellenburg, on September 05, 2009 01:13

Stephen, thank you for your reply.
If you'd like, I've taken a screen-cap of my security questions page and have uploaded it to my Skitch account. Please have someone contact me via Email from a mint.com Email address and I'll be more than happy to provide the URL. I'm not going to post it publicly since it contains personal and confidential information.
In case it helps or matters, when I called LGECCU this morning to unlock my account (yet again!) I was told the reason it was locked was because my security questions were'nt "answered or answered incorrectly" so we're on the right track with this.
Thanks again, and if someone at mint wants to see the Skitch screenshot, let me know.-

Credit Union ProblemsI have accounts at three credit unions:
(a) Associated Credit Union, (b) Powerco Federal Credit Union, and (c) Lockheed Georgia Employee Federal Credit Union.
Two of the credit unions use Digital Insight (ACUOnline.org & Powerco.org) but the third, LGECCU.org does not.
Ironically. ACUonline.org, and powerco.org are working fine.
Every once in a while my LGECCU account would get locked out forcing me to call in to "unlock the account".
From speaking with the account representatives we have determined the reason for the lockouts to be that Mint.com is using a separate set of verification questions that what LGECCU.org uses.
I opened a ticket with Mint.com last week about this issue, and even went so far to provide a list of the questions I can choose from for my account profile, but received a terse response from Len Francisco simply stating that LGECCU was using an image verification (which is FALSE) and that Mint was not compatible (case #00273333).
I have spoken with my Credit Union and they assure me they do not use any images for verification.
If you would simply fix the challenge questions everything should be fine.
Thanks.

Didn't work. Still receiving the papers. How many trees and paper are being wasted by all this? I'm sure I'm not the only one who doesn't want to receive these newspapers. – gellenburg, on June 25, 2008 13:46

Mint can't handle communication errors with FI's.A single connection error prompts me to re-enter my login information? GAH! Extremely inconvenient and a royal pain in the patootie.
Let me elaborate - Mint had a problem logging into my Discover card account.
Now, I *know* the credentials are correct, because I use Mint just about daily, and I log into Discover just about daily, but instead of having a link to "retry" clicking on that link prompts me to set up the account all over again (from within Mint). It wouldn't be so bad if it was just a username and password, but I also have to remember which secret questions and answers, too. Argh!
If you're concerned that too many login attempts may lock out someone's account, fine. Say so, but give me the option to proceed and request that you simply retry the login with the same credentials. Why force me to start back at square one?
Odds are theres was a hiccup either in the EDI feed or the screen scraping that you're doing, and to waste my time to re-set everything back up is a royal inconvenience.
Thanks.

How to stop the "free" newspaper deliveries? What must somebody do to prevent the "free" Thursday newspapers from being delivered, wasting trees, and from littering my front lawn?
I've already called — at least a year ago — and spoke with several employees in the Customer Service organization who assured me the papers would stop.
Yet they continue.
Wasting trees.
Wasting water turning those trees into paper.
Polluting the environment.
And littering my front lawn.
I don't read the newspaper.
I get all my news "online".
All I'm asking is for the deliveries to stop.
I didn't sign up for them.
Is that too much to ask?
