Geoff replied on September 15, 2009 11:42 to the problem "How do I install Flash in my Songbird?" in Songbird:
I'm using the contributed build of Songbird for Fedora 11 and today upgraded to Linux 64-bit via the Adobe Labs site. I'm either blind or the way Fedora files things is vastly different to Ubuntu etc; I have a ~/.songbird2 with no plugins directory and when I use the locate command, the only thing that comes up is in /usr/lib64 so I tried copying the flahplugin.so to the plugins directory there - songbird still closes (when using mashtape - disabling that makes songbird work). So where is Fedora keeping Songbird/plugins?

Geoff replied on May 27, 2009 11:47 to the problem "Ubuntu 8.10 64bit - Songbird 1.0 - seg faults on launch." in Songbird:
Forgive me for entering this in a Ubuntu posting, but I can't find any similar reports elsewhere.
I am having this problem with a newly installed Fedora 11 x86_64 - I understand that Fedora mixes 32 & 64 bits. I use the x86_64 binary from http://www.digitalruin.net/.
I was getting this error message:
/usr/lib64/songbird-1.1.2/songbird: line 134: 7833 Segmentation fault "$prog" ${1+"$@"}
I've reinstalled, deleted profiles, folders, tried other versions ie 1.1.1 & 1.1.0 and even used flac files instead of mp3's.
Reading this post made me try the i586 version - hey presto it almost worked except I get the mediacore error that an ID3 tag demuxer plugi is required - me thinks that means I need to load all the gstreamer i586 packages - I don't want to as this is meant to be an x86_64 system.
So something is wrong with x86_64 yeah? Can you wonderful Songbird people rectify whatever may be wrong?-

Geoff marked one of Bart's replies in Soocial as useful. Bart replied to the question "My nokia 6120 keeps stating it's connecting via 3services in Australia, but doesn't.".
Geoff replied on January 12, 2009 03:15 to the question "My nokia 6120 keeps stating it's connecting via 3services in Australia, but doesn't." in Soocial:
Update - I restarted the mobile and then waited for a longer period and it eventually started working. It however gets stuck at contact 20 of 121. So I start again and it takes ages (> 10 minutes) stating connecting but isn't, so I stop it and send this.
Am I doing something wrong or is demand high, or 3services at fault, or some other thing?

My nokia 6120 keeps stating it's connecting via 3services in Australia, but doesn't.My nokia 6120 keeps stating it's connecting via 3services in Australia, but doesn't so I stop it. I let it go for about 5 minutes before stopping in case I get some crazy mobile bill. I have sent the configuration sms a number of times (& deleted old ones) but it doesn't connect.
On the my connections screen, I get the Nokia 6120 but when I try to do my first sync, I get the brick - I've read that means my phone doesn't identify itself so delete the nokia connection - still doesn't connect.
I've tried resetting but still no joy in 'connecting'-

Geoff asked a question in Songbird on September 27, 2008 11:31:
How to play http://localhost/8000I'ma linux user and I'm used to rhythmbox. I would like to be able to play streamripper feeds through http://localhost/8000 but when I try, I keep getting that it is a bin file and that I can only save it. Rhythmbox actually play it so you can listen at the same time as recording. Am I missing something or is that a feature that I can ask be installed?-
