A true Genius many many thanks :-) :-) All I did was, like you said, go to System Preferences/International/Formats Mine was at custom. I just changed the value to UK - and it worked :-)

No solution found so far :-( Apart from reinstalling the whole OSX which I don't want to do! It only happens in my account, the guest account is OK. Try creating a new login and see if it works there for you?

Maybe in the spirit of openness Twitter could reveal the true cost of their Isle of Man service i.e. how much did they pay! I'm sure the crowd and other operators would then have a clearer idea on how to better/reduce the price.

I also think that Twitter could give at least 24hours notice for major changes.
