Gerhard asked a question in Sunbelt Software on November 30, 2008 12:51:
Vipre update not downloading definitionsThe virus definitions don't want to update. the yellow shield appears in the task bar. I click on it and tell it to update now. It checks for new version and tells me the current version. It stops after about a second with a red circle with an X. The only option is to click OK. I assume it is an error. It is happening on both my PCs.

Gerhard reported a problem in Sunbelt Software on November 14, 2008 05:51:
Pause function and smaller updates requiredThe Vipre risk definitions are extremely large and there is no pause button. I have spent 3 days trying to update my risk definitions, which were only 7 days old. Twice the update failed and once the program told me that it needs to update the software, but then had a problem opening the executable file. In desperation I downloaded the latest software from your website, which was a 70Mb download. I installed that and proceeded to update the risk definitions, which according to my firewall was another 50.3Mb download.
I thus have two requests:
1) Make the risk definition updates smaller. 1 Kb per day is more than enough.
2) Put a pause button on the updates and not just a cancel button. This is lost time and money for me, because I pay for my time and bandwidth. I use a laptop and cannot wait for the downloads to finish. A Pause function will help.
Thank you
