Yeah I posted this about 3 months ago and as you know I've long since had an account so it doesn't really concern me any more. I imagine you may be able to test what is happening by outputting a debug line in the code just before the email is sent, showing the email address that it is trying to send to and then trying to sign up using a email with a period and addition sign somewhere in the username segment, just like in my example above. If you need help testing this with an actual email I'm only to happy to assist.

I wrote about my disapproval of the current points system when it was first added for this very reason:

So surely this foresight gives me a bit more clout now? Maybe not, but whatever...
I half like this idea. Personally I think losing a point for writing a review that people consider bad is not the best idea. Just because something is unpopular does not make it invalid and I don't believe people should be punished for contributing something that is unpopular. But spam is an issue and you don't want to give points to spammers. I don't know how feasable this system is, however I believe the ideal situation from a quality and fairness perspective would be where somebody is awarded points for every review they have that has an average vote of over a set number. eg. Score x points for every review that has an average of 4 or higher (yes this does mean that over time you could lose some points). This would ensure that spam reviews are never rewarded but at the same time rewarding reviews that are really popular and not punishing people for posting reviews that could be unpopular (as this would lead to audience pandering reviews)
However to be quite blunt, I personally feel that the point system is already polluted beyond repair, with spammers ranking higher than regular users, based on rules which have been around from the beginning. I am generally against point systems as they usually promote the wrong kind of activity no matter how well intentioned, but it's made even worse when that point system isn't even focused on rewarding quality.
A comment on the idea "Tracking Firefox Add-ons" in Wakoopa:
What do you mean? It wouldn't even need to be a part of the browser as far as I can see. I don't think it would be able to track how long you use each extension as usage is a different thing for every extension, I think it would just be a list of which ones you have installed/enabled. The regular tracker could just scan your extension directory. – gerry, on April 23, 2009 15:24

> What matters is where the music is streamed, not where your headquarters are.
Sorry, I wasn't really clear, I meant moving everything to a different country, including the servers. One countries laws do not affect the laws in another country.
As an example, if somebody was to make a website on a US server criticizing the Chinese government, there's nothing the Chinese government could do to stop them even though the information could be "streamed" to people living in China.
So I'm not sure I understand what you are saying.

No offense, but look how far "honoring" the DMCA has gotten you. I think you should move operations to country that has respect for Internet business. Your not going to do right by artists, labels and publishers by running yourselves out of business, even if it's their rules that does it. You guys allowed yourselves to be shut off to the majority of the world and now they are attempting to shut you off completely.

Just tested and the upload works for me, but as Robert said it remains cached.
@Robert: In case you wanted to address this on your end. You can generate a random number for the user every time the upload a new profile pic and then append it to the end of the url of the profile pic whenever you call it.
eg. src="http://static.wakoopa.com/images/people/25907/picture.png?34987394"
You can use this trick all over your site to reduce calls to your server:

Thanks for responding, I really appreciate that!
I just checked and my OS filter was set to display everything (not that I would ever set it to mac anyway as I don't use one). I just set it to Windows only and then refreshed but there was no change to the position of "AVG Anti-Virus" on that "most used" list, it still is ranked number 1, yet number 3 on it's page.
