Pre-reading tweets via keyboard selection

Using the up-arrow key to scan through tweets, I can go "off the top" and end up with no tweets selected. This is fine, but doing so seems to cause new tweets to come in marked as previously selected.

Refresh on network connnection

I don't care to set the refresh time or manually refresh very often, but I am frustrated when my machine is offline for a while and reconnects. Please detect network connection and trigger a refresh. (Safari and Mail both offer good examples of this behavior.)

A proposal on providing this functionality for "power users" without compromising simplicity:

• Add metadata specifiers to search, particularly "from:".


• Unlike Twitter's web search, allow "or" operations on those fields


• Place proxy icons in the left toolbar for saved searchs

Then we could build queries that include messages from friendA, friendB, &c. and save them as a "group".

There's some nuance missing here around inclusion of replies and notification of new messages, but it's a start with a quantum of utility.

Publish to Fire Eagle or Brightkite

Gowalla offers a more compelling reason to launch an app and "check in" than most location-oriented tools (except perhaps Foursquare)... I would love if it would (optionally) publish my location to Fire Eagle or Brightkite so I can take advantage of those services indirectly.
