Geysa replied on August 14, 2009 16:38 to the question "Problems with alingment and spaces between paragraphs" in Six Apart:
Hi Albert, it seems your first paragraph is not enclosed in paragraph tags. Your CSS and theme are set to justify text when a tag is used and since the first paragraph is not marked with it, it aligns left.
Could it be that when you're pasting from notepad something is getting lost? Otherwise hitting Enter should always create the proper paragraph tags for you.
As far as spacing within your Blockquote: use the line-height variable in your CSS to adjust the height between paragraphs to your liking.
Hope this helps!
Geysa replied on August 14, 2009 16:25 to the question "Why won't my fonts on my posts look the same?" in Six Apart:
Hi Scott, I'm sorry you're having issues with composing and I would like to help.
When you compose with TypePad, the presentation of your post (font type, size) is dictated by your theme or, if you have access to it, by your CSS choices. The font type/size controls in the Rich Text editor are there only for when you want to overwrite the defaults of your theme. So I would recommend taking a look at our various theme choices and pick one that has a font you like. Or you can build your own theme using the Custom Theme option, or by writing your own CSS. If you want help with any of that, feel free to open a ticket and our Support team will gladly help you 24/7.
As far as spacing goes, Enter means new paragraph and Shift+Enter means new line. Give it a try!

Geysa replied on August 13, 2009 00:59 to the question "change time zone" in Six Apart:
Hi Mary Beth, if you are the owner of your blog, you can change your time zone by editing your account settings. If you're in the all new TypePad, go to Account ->Summary and if you're not, go to Control Panel->Profile.
However, if you are a guest author on someone else's blog, and this person is on a different time zone, we always honor the time zone of the owner. In this case, you can adjust your post timestamp by using the "Schedule" post feature.

Hi Sandra, you need to be using the All New TypePad in order to see this feature. Click on the "Preview the new TypePad TypePad" link at the top and then follow the instructions provided here: http://help.sixapart.com/tp/us/facebo... – Geysa, on August 12, 2009 23:32
A comment on the idea "Facebook Connect option in Comments" in Six Apart:
Hi Melissa: currently when you share your post, TypePad sends an excerpt of your post to Facebook. This is done so that you can notify your friends you have a new post and generate interest among them, but you can still get traffic back to your blog.
If you don't want your readers to come to your blog, you can increase the size of your post excerpts by going on Blog->Settings->Post&Pages and selecting the number of words you want. Hope this helps! – Geysa, on August 12, 2009 23:05

Geysa replied on August 12, 2009 01:19 to the question "side by side images, works in full screen, not in regular mode" in Six Apart:
Hi Maggie, the final presentation of your post is dictated by your design choices: number and width of columns, font choices, etc. Hence what you see in the Rich Text editor sometimes won't match what the preview shows.
We are working to make some improvements to the compose experience to make it easier for bloggers to manipulate images and text, but for now there is not easy solution for you.
One thing that helps me is to refer to an old post where I successfully got images side by side. So instead of composing a new post from scratch, I copy the old post and modify it with the new images/text. Hope this helps you too.

A comment on the question "Should I use basic or advanced templates?" in Six Apart:
Hi Nate, glad to hear you're having success with Basic Templates! If you want posts to display the author's name, go to Design->Organize Content->Post Footer and check the author option. If you have pages on your blog make sure to do the same on Page Footer.
As far as your other suggestions, they have been logged and we'll consider them for future releases. – Geysa, on August 10, 2009 23:02

A comment on the problem "Removing the Powered by Typepad graphic" in Six Apart:
Hi greenteamusa: adoption of TypePad Connect is independent of your participation in the Beta program. If you want to install or uninstall it from your blog, all you need to do is go to Blog->Settings->Comments and at the very bottom of the page you'll find a link to enable or disable TypePad Connect. – Geysa, on August 07, 2009 21:04
Geysa replied on August 05, 2009 23:01 to the problem "Scheduled Posts showing up at weird times" in Six Apart:
I think I found the issue: your account is set up for LA time (see under Control Panel->Timezone). This means when you choose "publish now", we respect your timezone (West Coast). However, when you're scheduling posts, the calendar pulls up the clock in your computer, which is set up for the East Coast. That explains the time difference.
Here's how to solve it:
a) Change your timezone to the East Coast; or
b) Change your computer clock to the West Coast
Hope this helps!
