Hi Albert, thank you for your patience. The TypePad Connect comments are now displaying HTML correctly. Your comment now shows the link to "Somalia, ¿anarquía o caos?". Other tags such as bold, italics and blockquotes should also be working correctly.

Hi Susan, when you click the Insert Link button from the compose page, the little pop up has the following options:

Link Text
Link URL
Check box for whether you want to have the link open in a new window
Description

If you leave the checkbox unselected, then the link should not open a new window/tab.

That takes care of links inside your posts/pages, but not necessarily inside your typelists or other sidebar modules. I'll see if I can find and get back to you.

Hi Al, sorry you are experiencing issues with TypePad. The problem with next/previous is actually affecting all browsers and we are fixing it this week. As far as the other issues, could you please list them for us? This would help us investigate the root cause of these problems.

Hi Susan, this is great feedback! You've given us a lot to think about and we'll certainly investigate ways to improve image management in the compose editor.

In regards to your issues with the imported posts:
* The edit screen will open in the same mode your post was originally saved. So if your post was saved from the Rich Text mode, it'll open in Rich Text mode for editing. Likewise, if you save the post in HTML mode, then that is the tab that will open when you edit it later.

* The Rich Text/HTML tabs "disappear" when you're in Markdown or "Convert Line Breaks" mode. The way you can make them appear again is to switch back to "HTML". If you can't see the option to change it back to HTML in the bottom of the compose editor, then something may be wrong and the best way to handle it is to have you open a Help ticket with us and specify which post you're having this problem. This will make it easier for us to help you.

I'm really sorry you're experiencing these issues and we'll certainly look into it!

Have you tried hovering over the commenter's image? When I do that, I'm able to see the user's name, email and IP address. I'm also able to see the link "see all comments from this user". – Geysa, on May 11, 2009 23:16

If the blog is using TypePad Connect, then yes. Clicking on the "Sign In to Comment" link will take you to the login page where Facebook is one of the options. – Geysa, on May 11, 2009 19:42

Yes! If you go to the TypePad Connect page http://www.typepad.com/connect/ and click on Sign Up or Sign In, you'll see Facebook as one of the possible ways to register. – Geysa, on May 11, 2009 18:48

And you'll see the "Recent Posts" and "Recent Comments" widgets.

A comment on the problem "URL shortening not taking place when posting to Twitter" in Six Apart:

You are correct, we are talking about the "Share this post" feature. Twitter only allows for 140 characters, so if your post name is too long they automatically shorten the URL for you. That way your message doesn't get truncated and the link works. If your post titles are not too long, then they show the post URL as is. – Geysa, on April 28, 2009 01:23
