If there is one thing I have detested about Songbird is lack of a forum. There is no easy way to discuss ideas, solve problems or just talk about the program. This service doesn't lend itself to easily finding topics, etc.
Maybe it takes getting used to, but if the forum solution is what we are familiar with and it isn't broken, why use this odd setup?

I like the thinking behind this idea. I have my Christmas songs zipped up and unzip them at that time of year. Its a pain though to do and then if I forget I don't even have the songs lol.
Perhaps this idea could work for other things like Football Season, birthdays or anniversaries, Halloween, New Years, things like that
I'm not sure how easily that is to script but sounds like a cool add-on anyway.

I agree that Songbird is pretty darn good. However it wasn't till I tried it on my Ubuntu that I really saw what a difference it made. On Vista it isn't quite up to snuff, though its getting there, especially once they settle on a core we'll have the equalizer and stuff possible.
However on Ubuntu it blows all the other players I've tried out of the water. It just works and works well. Amarok gets high praise but I find it bogs down at times and is poorly laid out. XMMS is fine but limited, I want a media library manager not just a player. Can't recall which others I tried but Songbird is the real deal.
Great work and look forward to the continued improvements.
