Fixed it!

It was my fault, the sourcecode was right, but i saw the background-color-hex missed a 'zero'.

that's what I did wrong in the change color-panel. you should probably put some kind of check on there, but whatever.

I am having the same issue, why hasn't this been fixed since the first time it appeared 6 months ago?

It's not that big of a problem, but probably should be fixed.

I've tried resizing the pic, several different pics, and I'm sure that the problem isn't my pic it's Twitter. What's the deal?

My background image (it's only about 9KB) won't load. It was working before, but then I went to change it and now it won't upload any background pictures. It just defaults to the background colour.

Help? I'd be so grateful, it's really irritating.

I am also having this issue...and it is definitely frustrating!

I wish someone had the answer to this. I have tried several times, refreshed my screen, logged off and back on, it is a big waste of time! I tried different "compliant" sizes, nothing works, I tried not to tile, i think I covered everything. did you ever get an answer?

When I uploaded my picture I never received an error. My picture was either not there (as was my experience in the beginning) or it was there.
I know Twitter has been experiencing problems today. Not sure if things got cleared up or not. I haven't been on since early this afternoon.

Just out of curiosity, are you getting an error with the background being uploaded, or does it say the upload went fine but the background just didn't appear right away?

Hello Bwarwick. I was finally able to get my picture on for my background by chooseing BOTH the background color and a check mark in the box for my picture. I know...it is a strange thing. Another lady sent me this same advice and sure enough, when I chose a background color AND had a check mark in the box indicating I wanted my picture for the background then my picture finally showed up.
Make sure that your picute does not exceed 800kb.

I am having the same problem, I put an image that is 8jpg, and I am really confused and I would log out and then back in and it still would not work, something is up and I am confused!!!!!!

I'm having the same issue, no matter what I do it goes to white background. My image is 100x100 pixels 23.4kb. Makes no sense really. I've tried changing it from JPEG to PNG nothing helps. I've logged in and out nothing helps, cleared cookies... nada.

I realized what my problem was, I don't know if it's the same for you but the JPG file I had used to upload was in CMYK and not RGB. Open the image in Photoshop or some other image editing program and check to see under Image>Mode to see what the color settings are. I worked around it (before I realized the problem) by resaving the file as a png (which had converted it to RGB anyway). Hope this helps!
