Giuseppe Bonetti replied on November 21, 2008 11:29 to the idea "Points of Interest database" in Plazes:
Hi Flavio,
Plazes is not supposed to be a POI database: it is a collaborative site where everyone can add their Plazes.
Nevertheless, we are trying to import cool locations, as we did for Berlin in cooperation with Unlike.

Giuseppe Bonetti replied on October 27, 2008 11:32 to the question "How can I make a plaze historic?" in Plazes:
Hi seppert,
I understand your irritation because, unfortunately, now it is not possible to make an old address historic anymore.
We are going to fix this with the new release, in the meantime you can choose the option "at another Plaze" and as soon as the frequency you plaze yourself in the new Plaze is high enough, the system will make the old address historic.

Giuseppe Bonetti replied on October 16, 2008 13:41 to the question "Any plans to get location from Fire Eagle?" in Plazes:
This is the current situation:
1) You update Fire Eagle in some way (let's say, automatically, via GPS)
2) Fire Eagle spots you somewhere, e.g. Monbijouplatz 5, Berlin, Germany
3) Plazes has to understand now where you actually are: at the Plazes HQ or at the cafe downstairs?
This is the big challenge, because Plazes works with context, not with pure geo-coordinates.
We might of course let you log in to Plazes, pull the coordinates from Fire Eagle and ask you where you actually are: you only have to choose among the few options provided or create a new Plaze, if necessary.
However, we are currently working on a more ambitious project that will unveil the power of the Nokia acquisition...

Hi Yon and thanks for reporting this.
Unfortunately I was not able to reproduce the bug :-(
I have been trying to insert a link in a comment, like here:
http://plazes.com/activities/6425977_haikus_at_plazes_berlin
but everything works just fine on different machines and configurations.
Please let me know, first of all, whether I understood the problem and/or whether you are still experiencing it.
Giuseppe Bonetti replied on October 15, 2008 09:34 to the question "Plazes comments gone?" in Plazes:
Yes, jank0, you're right, we do not offer the option to comment on a Plaze any longer.
This is because Plazes, in our vision, is not a platform to review or rate locations.
Plazes has been used in different way and it is still a very versatile application, however, with the redesign, we wanted to focus on our original concept.
We feel your disappointment but we think that Plazes is now much more tidy and usable than ever.
