A comment on the problem "something is emailing my yahoo address book with spam, sending it from me" in Yahoo!:
Thank you Thor. I don't use Outlook, I only use yahoo. This thing randomly selected contacts from my online yahoo address book. Removing the infection and reformatting my computer did not stop the spam from being sent from "me". Deleting all my contacts from yahoo seems to have worked.
Through google I found one other person with this - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forum...
It looks like this is a new virus/trojan/whatever, and lucky me, I was one of the first to get it, I still don't know how, I am extremely careful online.
I've tried to contact yahoo help, but it is impossible to get a live person there, all you can get is an automated computer-generated response based on keywords. I thought this site was supposed to help solve that problem!!

removed one malware infection. When that didn't work, I then:
reformatted my hard drive
installed NEW antivirus, malware, and firewall programs.
When that didn't work I:
changed my yahoo pasword
deleted all my contacts. (I did this, not whatever has accessed my account.)
NOTHING WORKS!!! What do I do? I want to KEEP my yahoo address, but people are getting spammed, as if by me.
