Granny Joan replied on April 08, 2009 19:53 to the question "Why can't I make a widget from all my voice blogs?" in Snapvine:
I was able to post the 'medium size' and 'widescreen' size widget for voice blog player using the 'gigya' auto post service, but it was spuratic and did not always post. I could NOT get the code or the auto post to work for the 'blog size' widget to post successfully.
The widget that did post is here and I have put an arrow pointing to the next button on the widget picture
.
It may be possible the auto-posting to mySpace is not working correctly this morning. You can try pasting yourself, by copying the embed code and going to you myspace page and 'post a blog' where you can paste the code in to the post a blog text box.
Could it also be possible that your columns on myspace are not letting you see the arrows to the widget? Maybe trying to post the 'medium size' widget might work to see these arrows or next button arrow.
Hope this helps. The widget, does only show one blog at a time, but you can use the arrows to go back and forth to the other blogs that you have posted.
Granny Joan replied on April 08, 2009 17:03 to the question "Why can't I make a widget from all my voice blogs?" in Snapvine:
If you want all your blogs to show up in one voice widget you need to post them under one blog category. You will notice on your home page the 'create a post' and 'create a blog' options. Create a post allows you to post blogs under one category on your page. The create a blog allows you to create a blog category. These are two different things. A blog category allows you to separate your blogs into different areas ... you might use one to post personal journal stuff and the other might be used to post to a website or subject or business. Each can have their own widget, thus keeping your personal blog posts separate from say a web blogging post.
So, If you want to post everything on one widget, just make sure you post to that one blog category and not the other one, thus keeping them together.

Sign into your Snapvine account at www.snapvine.com and click on 'Home' tab which will take you to your homepage. On the right hand side you will see 'Edit Profile' link in the Personal Info box. Click on this link, which will bring up your personal profile settings. On the left hand side, at the bottom you will see a small box next to "Autoplay my Voice Player Widget". Click in the box, and this will Play intro when somebody visits your MySpace or other web page. Be sure to click on 'submit' to submit this change. Hope this helps.

Granny Joan shared an idea in Snapvine on February 14, 2009 16:58:
Suggestion to fix 'hangup' that occurs when listening to 'subscribers blogs' that are text only via phone problem.I am not sure if you are aware of a bug in the mobile 'listen to my subscriber's blogs'. When a person calls into listen to these blogs, if one of their subscribers posts a blog without audio, it causes the phone system to hang up and that user is unable to hear the rest of the blogs from other subscribers. I believe that we reported this to the snapvine contact email. I just think it is a huge issue for your mobile users to not be able to reach all their subscriber's blogs. One, thing to note is that when they listen to replies to a blog and users post a text only reply or comment to a blog, the phone system just skips that comment and continues onto the next reply, so it seems the code for that could be applied or be similar for the code for blogs. Anyway, one of the Snapviners had a clever solution for anyone who may not have a working microphone or ability to post an audio to their blogs. That suggestion was to upload a message that states 'that this is a text only blog that has text and/or photo only, without any audio'. She also cleverly suggested that possibly Snapvine could test for no audio in blogs and actually insert this message automatically. I thought this was worth passing on to you guys.
Thanks,
Granny Joan

Log into your Snapvine profile, click on Account (in upper right hand corner of your 'Home' page). Then click on 'Notification Preferences'. Click on the options that you wish to receive by Text messaging or by email. Make sure your email address is correct. Also make sure that your email provider is not blocking the email to you or marking it as spam. Hope this helps. For others to receive notification, they also need to have the correct notification settings checked.

Granny Joan replied on November 08, 2008 20:51 to the question "Photo Question" in Snapvine:
A person would log onto their account at snapvine.com. From their homepage, they would click on 'add photo' on the right hand side of the page. Use the 'browse button' to select a jpg file from their hard drive and then click 'upload photo'. This will load in the picture for their profile. This picture then becomes the picture that is displayed when they make a blog post or comment. Hope this helps.
They can edit this photo at anytime, to change it, using the same steps, instead of 'add photo' it would be 'edit photo'.

Flash 10.0.12.36 on Mac with Snapvine site working without problems this morning. Thanks for the fix. Also widgets were successfully posted on myspace with Flash 10 installed and a Macintosh. Still an embed code error when pasting code to eBlogger but works once the embed error is fixed. Still no luck with Flash 9 or 10 on Yahoo 360. Looks like Yahoo may still be having issues with flash player or posting the widgets to that site.
Thanks again. Working on my mac just great this morning.
Granny Joan replied on October 30, 2008 18:46 to the question "INTRO" in Snapvine:
Looks like you can use the phone, but all these methods seem to need the Adobe Flash Player to work. Suggest downloading the Version 9 Flash player, installing and restarting your browser. Then try the intro record again.

Granny Joan replied on October 30, 2008 18:36 to the question "INTRO" in Snapvine:
I don't believe you can add an intro via phone, it has to be done via microphone and the recorder on Snapvine (which requires adobe flash player to work ... DO NOT recomment installing flash player 10 YET as it is still buggy ... but you can search the archives on adobe.com to find the Flash Player 9 versions which work fine). Alternate thing to do would be to use a program like audacity to record your intro and then save as mp3 file and use the upload option to upload the mp3 with your intro.
Hope this solves your problem.
Granny Joan replied on October 28, 2008 23:25 to the question "why cant i make an intro for my voice player" in Snapvine:
I am assuming you already have the player embedded on another site and wish to change the current intro, if that is so ... then,
The voice player widget allows you to record an intro by phone or microphone when you set up the widget originally and it becomes the first comment on your player. After this widget is placed on a social site via the embed code, the one way to change this intro or first comment on your player is to:
1. Log into your Snapvine account at www.snapvine.com
2. Click on the 'edit intro' button under your picture on the right hand side of the page.
3. Use the recorder on the left hand side of the page by selecting microphone, upload or phone to record a new intro. Click on 'Stop' when finished.
4. The new intro will be playable at that time and will be the first comment on your player.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Krista. I am able to put all three widgets onto MySpace using V9.0 and Firefox on a Macintosh. They all post just fine. There are uninstallers and old versions of Flash Player on the adobe.com site (use search window on that site to find them) for those that want to revert back from V10 to V9, however, Nov 1st is certainly not that far away.
The widgets I had posted on Yahoo 360 have disappeared and know that is a Yahoo issue. The ones I post on eblogger work, but I have to correct the embed code to get them to work. Hope this helps.
Thanks again for all the hard work in getting this fixed. I am sure it is hard to keep up with all the changes that come in from other products.

I was having trouble putting the blog widget onto myspace page, using the auto post option. When I copied and pasted the embed code and just pasted it into section (about me) by myself, it worked.
Suggest removing the code that is faulty and going to paste in your embed code manually on your sites.
Hope this helps. It is the weekend and I am sure Snapvine staff will follow up on this on Monday or next week.
