A comment on the idea "Gravatar Support?" in Twitter:
Since the <a href="">Gravatar acquisition by Automattic</a> almost a year ago the service has been great - partly due to the PHP rewrite, and the better hosting capabilities of the Wordpress.com framework. – Alex, on August 20, 2008 16:08

Wordpress and PHP optionsI'm running an instance of wordpress on my Arafel hosted domain. This uses a plugin to provide OpenID support. That plugin would apparently work a lot better if PHP were built with a couple of options enabled:
GMP for mathematical cleverness
libcurl for fetching https:// URLs.
Any chance these could be compiled into PHP on the new Arafel?

graphiclunarkid asked a question in Arafel on July 28, 2008 22:03:
Do we need diskspace quotas?Does anyone have any strong feelings about implementing quotas? We have limited disk space, and the current incarnation of Arafel has had some problems with this in the past. If we implemented quotas up front that could alleviate the need to badger people to delete mail archives and the like in future, but it might also lead to inefficient use of space, as some users won't use nearly as much as others.
What sort of capacity will the new machine have?
What would be a sensible suggestion for a workable quote scheme?
Would you prefer the free-for-all status quo to be maintained?

I hate spam!I would love to be rid of spam forever. I'm sure you feel the same. The question is, how do we make that happen on Arafel?
The current incarnation of Arafel runs software called SpamAssassin, however I don't believe it's switched on for new mailboxes by default; where it is working, it's acting piecemeal on individual mailboxes; and it's pretty tricky to configure if you're not a linux ninja (especially if you don't have shell-level access)!
How do we make this better?
