Joe replied on May 15, 2008 16:46 to the question "Installed RescueTime and Mac can't restart" in RescueTime:
By default, RescueTime will autostart with the rest of your "Login Items", which only run after the Mac has successfully started and the Finder and Dock menus are displayed. If you restart isn't making it that far along, then I don't think it is related to RescueTime.
Let me know if you continue having this issue and if removing RescueTime from your Login Items resolves it. You can remove RescueTime from automatically starting by un-checking the "Automatically start RescueTime" in the RescueTime preferences, or by removing the Login Item in your OS X Account Preferences.
Let me know how it goes

Installed RescueTime and Mac can't restartSo I installed RescueTime, played around with it and really like it. Then went to restart my macbook and no go. Stuck on the grey screen with the spinning gear.
Is this a common issue? If so a heads up on the solution would be great otherise I just consider it bad luck and nothing to do with RescueTime.
Thanks,
Greg
Joe replied on May 15, 2008 15:57 to the question "Does the RescueTime app have to be running to collect the data?" in RescueTime:
The short answer: Yes, the RescueTime app must be running in order to collect data.
By default the RescueTime application will collect the data and send that data to the RescueTime.com servers every 30 minutes. However, if you happen to not have a internet connection, RescueTime will queue up the collected data and send it the next time you are connected, so you can use RescueTime even when off-line.
Hope that helps, let me know if you have any other questions.
