I am looking at the login screen today (Aug 27th) using Firefox 3 on Windows XP.

The auth_token is there, but it is still asking me to login. This is frustrating that I need to authenticate every time I close and open my browser.

A comment on the question "Advanced lookup functionality" in I want Sandy:

Good suggestions, Kevin. I getting the feeling that Sandy's helpers don't realize just how much a problem it is not providing an option to use boolean logic on searches. I have a lot of stuff in Sandy, but it is just too difficult to extract exactly what I need when I need it. – Michael, on August 09, 2008 01:56

Oops. I just realized that the + is currently used by Sandy for tags that contain a space.
So maybe my idea needs to be modified. Or maybe the space can be encoded. A lot of other websites do that.

I agree. There should be a way to specify what tags we want to search for more precisely.

It would be great if the operators AND OR and NOT could be supported. (Maybe the symbols + and - should be used instead of words though.)
And there really should be a way to find untagged items.

Here are some ideas:

By email: (and Twitter)
> lookup @todo AND @project1
> lookup @todo AND NOT @work
> lookup dry cleaning @todo @AND @NOT @work

The "tag cloud" on Sandy's website:
Selecting both tags "project1" and "todo" currently does an OR search.

By URL:
http://iwantsandy.com/list?tags=todo,... (This currently does an OR search)
http://iwantsandy.com/list?tags=todo+... (Idea for an AND search)
http://iwantsandy.com/list?tags=todo+... (idea for an AND NOT search)
http://iwantsandy.com/list?tags= (To find items with no tags.)
(Other ideas for no tags. tags=undefined or tags=notag or tags=untagged)

(Note: the search box on Sandy's website should not be relied on to search for tags.
Typing in "@todo" will only return those items that contain the actual text "@todo". This is usually only found in the "context" of the item. Example: "remember to buy milk @todo")

That's odd. Things have been very stable since a couple-three weeks ago's fixes. Could you possibly send me the URLs for each of those items that didn't result in reminders and I'll be glad to hunt down the issue. (If you right-click or control-click the name of the item in any list on Sandy's site, you'll be able to copy the link and can then paste it into email.)

I had two reminders scheduled for 6am that didn't arrive.

I also made a change to the text of a weekly reminder. When the next reminder arrived, it was the old, pre-change version of the text.

Last response was six months ago . .. I too would like to use some boolean logic to my searches. As I understand it if I search by the tags A and B, Sandy returns a list with those items that have both tags followed by those items with only the tag A, and then those with only B. But as my Sandy data grows these sorts of list get very, very long. I really need to be able to search for just those items that meet all conditions.

I similarly have issues with Safari (and my custom Sandy Fluid app -- also WebKit) forgetting my Sandy login within a day or two at most. It has always done this, since shortly after Sandy launched. Any progress debugging this?

Hi folks.

While we did indeed pinpoint where this was happening the last time it did, it seems we hadn't completely solved the issue. I'm working on it now while Sandy is chewing through, catching up on those reminders and daily digests that didn't make it through the queue earlier today.

I'm terribly sorry for the interruption of service and will post with further updates shortly.

Hi again.

We've finally pinpointed just when this happened and found the commonality with the last time this happened a couple of weeks ago. With that in hand, we'll be making sure it doesn't happen again.

In the meantime, Sandy is back in the saddle and reminders are working once again.

Hi Thunderboy,

Sandy appears to have had some trouble sending some reminders and digests again.

She's chewing through them all now and will be caught up very shortly.

I'm not sure why this happened (it doesn't appear to be the same problem as last time) but I'm looking into it and will post a follow-up as soon as I know more.

No Man, Everything was back automatically last friday I got an email reminder and then again this friday none... that weekly reminder was only back up for one week.

Forgot to do it again this week and now going back to post-its....
