    Cheers,

First of all: Happy New Year!

The Joost Iphone application, does not work with 3G. Unfortunately, you need a wifi connection to see the shows. We're working towards an app that works with 3G as soon as possible.

Now, if you're Iphone is on a wifi connection, and it still produces the error, there are some things you can do to help us out in determining the problem. Below you'll find a copy/paste of the email we sent out on this subject.

The first thing we'd like to know, is some output from this page: www.joost.com/support/specs
Just go to that page, and copy paste the country and IP in your reply.

The second thing we'd like to receive, is a copy of a traceroute to cdi.joost.com. With traceroute you can see what route packages (data) take to get from one computer to the next.

On a mac, you can obtain the traceroute by opening the Terminal, and the type
    traceroute cdi.joost.com (then press enter)

On windows, you can obtain the traceroute by opening Command Prompt (start > accesoires > command prompt) and the type: tracert cdi.joost.com (then press enter)

On linux, open the terminal and type: traceroute cdi.joost.com (then press enter)

Please copy paste the output in an email to us!
Finally, we would like to know what version of iPhone and the Joost app you are running. You can find the version of the iPhone through 'Settings > General > Info > Version'. The version of the Joost app is available through 'Settings > Joost > Version', both you can find on your iPhone.

It might be a bit of work, but it would really help us out!

How to help improving the Iphone app
    Hi all,

Well, after reading the blogpost on the Iphone from Henrik I thought it might be worth mentioning how you guys can help us out improving the Iphone app!

As said in the aforementioned blog, we'll be improving the app according to all the feedback we've received. What we would really like, apart from all the feedback you guys sent us, are the crash logs! Everytime the app crashes, a log is created, with information about what went wrong. It would really help us if you guys would email us those!

Here is how to get the file:

After a crash, sync you Iphone with Itunes The crash logs are synced as
well, so you'll be able to find them on your computer's hard disk.

Here are the paths where the logs can be found:

    Mac OS X : /Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/devicename/

    Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Apple
    computer\Logs\CrashReporter\devicename\

    Windows Vista: C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Apple
    computer\Logs\CrashReporter\MobileDevice\devicename\

Please email the logs to feedback@joost.com!

    Guido
    Heya,

Well, error 20013 occurs if the player is unable to locate the content on our servers. This is a problem our side!

If you send us an email on feedback@joost.com, reporting this error, please also provide us the url to the show, so we can investigate it.

In the mean time, you should be able to watch other shows, until we've sorted out the error.

    Cheers, Guido

    Hmm...

Are you using spyware doctor by any chance? If so, please try to following:

In Spyware doctor please go to Settings->General, and uncheck the "Enable kernel compatibility mode" box at the bottom of the page.

Joost should work after changing this setting.

Can you try installing the plugin, with all your internet browser(s) closed?
That should solve the problem. Please let me know if it works for you!

    Joost Player for Linux?
All the responses to our previous message about not making a Linux version of the Joost Player as it exists today, really got to us. As one of our product managers told you already on the forum, a lot of the development on the Joost player is done using Linux. But, the truth is, we will not release a Joost Player, as we know it today, for Linux.

Most of you will have caught on with the news... We are working on a web based version of the Joost Player! Obviously, that's keeping us busy 8 days a week, but the good news is that it will be available for Linux as well! It will arrive after the Windows/Mac version, but we will get there!

Do not pay for Joost, it's free!
We've received some emails from the Joost community about sites that are selling Joost software, either on a stand-alone basis or bundled with other software. These sites are NOT, I repeat, NOT associated with Joost. Joost is and always has been free to users - many places on www.joost.com indicate that Joost is free! You should not have to pay to use the Joost software.

Please beware of sites that are selling Joost. If you find one of these sites, please let us know about it immediately, by posting on this thread or sending an email to support@joost.com. If you have already paid for Joost through one of these sites, please contact that site and demand a refund.
