How can we make time more meaningful?I would like some way to know the local time of the POSTER for an update. Sometimes it might help to understand the tone and context of a post if I knew whether the poster was posting first thing in the morning, at the end of the work day, or up with insomnia at 4 A.M. I am only seeing the first few letters of the city name (e.g., "Munche"), so I often don't know the country of origin, let alone the time zone. This could be done in just a few characters after MY local time in the message. For example, the post I recently received:
"Saturday at 4:03 PM - Munche
Could be ..."
might be shown as:
"Saturday at 16:30 (22:30)- Munche
Could be..."
I changed both times to 24-hour clock to save characters so that the new post takes only a few more characters than the original. Any thoughts?-

Looking good people!OK, I'm getting to be pretty pleased w/ Buddycloud. As soon as you get clients for other platforms, I'll be pushing hard for my friends to join us here. My friends have iPhone, Blackberry, and Windows Mobile, so you have your work cut out for you! :-)

New message indicatorsI might be missing something, but when there are new posts to a channel, that channel moves up right under my name. So I have made it a habit to check there when I pick up my phone. Unfortunately, I don't know HOW MANY groups to go through (i.e., WHICH groups other than the first have new messages). It would be really nice if the groups that have to be read would be highlighted in some way so I know which ones I need to check for new messages. Or better yet, some way to see JUST new messages.-

That's EXACTLY what I've tried to do. It just doesn't work. I have a WiFi connection at home, so it says that it's possible to bookmark almost immediately, but it just doesn't seem to take. It has never done this, so I don't know if it's your server problems or not. Is there anything I can do to help diagnose this problem?
Gary Walborn reported a problem in buddycloud on April 01, 2009 21:14:
Buddycloud doesn't know I'm home!OK, Buddycloud does not seem to properly do exactly what it is designed to do. When I'm at home, I want Buddycloud to detect that I'm at home and post that status to Facebook. What happens, however, is that when I'm at home Buddycloud shows "Somewhere new in Boardman". I've tried to bookmark this location and it seems to make no difference. How can I get Buddycloud to report that I'm back home.

I am also having this problem, particularly at home. I don't seem to be able to get Buddycloud to figure out when I'm at home (despite a wifi in the house) and set my location accordingly. If I try to add a bookmark, I get "updating..." indefinitely.

A comment on the idea "OTA (over-the-air) Digital TV Transmissions - DVB-T, Freeview..." in boxee:
I think "heck of a lot of work" depends on what we're looking for. If it's just support for tuners (e.g., HD Homerun), it should be fairly simple. MythTV is ALMOST there (is has a "Live" option). So the amount of work needed really depends on which "front end" we're talking about. I'd like to see Boxee support as many as possible and the ones that are easiest should be done first. Right now, I'd be happy w/ working MythTV support (I have an ATSC tuner in my MythTV box). – Gary Walborn, on January 15, 2009 17:05
