Make Emails Have "Brightkite" As SenderEmails sent by Brightkite should have "Brightkite" as the sender, not "no-reply".
When scanning my inbox the messages from Brightkite (e.g. friend requests) look more like spam than useful messages due to their lack of recognizable sender name.

Well, you've got a friend in me. I like that language, too, but we were wondering if it's a word that most people would understand. It's one of them Shakespeare words. – Eric Suesz, on April 15, 2008 05:44

I like the idea of calling them asides, instead of comments. – Tim, on April 15, 2008 05:37

I don't know if this is doable (or how it impacts usability) but I'd love it if there was some way for me to easily see new comments and replies on the Topic page. By "new" I mean they were posted since the last time I viewed the page.
I don't have any particular preference as to how new items can be identified (highlighting? different background color? a special icon?) as long as it's consistently applied.

Brad,
You are totally right. Our search indexer is very rudimentary at the moment, and our search space is segmented into company spaces. We know it's not the best way to find everything on our site, and even we struggle with using it at times.
I assure you we have plans to make it much better, but I don't know exactly where that fits on the our roadmap and therefore on our development schedule. I wish I could tell you that I'm fixing it right now, but that's just not the case.
Do you happen to know any great search engineers that we could talk with? We like Lucene, maybe you do, too?
