I bought a copy of this book tonight and subsequently spent the rest of the night trying to find the missing page numbers, trying to navigate between safari pages and O'Reilly pages, and signing up for accounts that i do not paricularly want to have. Personally after paying good money for this book, it seeems that I am wastng my valuable time trying to correct someone else's mistake. Also, what is the story on the "missing CD ROM????" I am getting a refund tomorrow!

The first answer to this was sort of correct - it was what O'Reilly had published. Their comments were dated 13 November, 2007.
My book has a printing history of October, 2007, so this should have covered it. But there is another listing for the 12/07 printing which fills in the problems listed and others - you would think they would have fixed them in that printing!
Before I explain how I found this let me quote from the book - "The very best way to learn Elements is just dive right in and play with it. ..." (from page 6 of the Introduction - which means you miss the last page (11) of the Introduction which suggests that you go to www.missingmanuals.com (where you have to search for the book we have - my comments) and you will find additional links to downloadable images (Missing CD-Rom - my commentary again) as well as a link to View/Submit Errata..
The View/Submit Errata will let us as Readers see the missing page numbers and additional changes or to suggest other changes!
I guess we do have to read everything, at least all that is written in the Introduction.

I'm surprised no one has commented that your response does not answer the problem posted. The term "(page xx)" occurs at least 5 times on pages 3 and 4. On page 6 it occurs again and the term "See page xx" occurs on page 5.
Obviously these were supposed to be replaced with real page numbers in the manual before printing. I do not have any idea how many other mistakes made it by the proofing team, but it does not leave me with a warm feeing seeing these prolems at the begining of a book and not having them addressed immediately!
