Hayley asked a question in FreeAgent Central on December 02, 2009 14:25:
How do I record an refund issued to a client?Hi,
I have had to issue a refund to a client and am struggling to record it properly in the Banking section. I followed the advice in a previous question and marked the refund as a Credit Note Refund against the related invoice - I don't know if this is the best thing to do?
The problem is that the invoice still shows as unpaid with the initial amount (as the net payment has been zero). The client will not be paying the invoice - is there any way to close it without marking it against a payment?
Please can you advise me, or let me know if you need more information.
Kind regards,
Hayley

Ok, your image has a fairly crisp edge so try using the magic wand tool to select the white areas. You may need to adjust the tolerance so that it only selects the areas you want - try 20, and adjust as necessary (just keep hitting "undo" until it's right). Just do one area at a time.
Before you delete the selected areas, go to Select > Modify > Feather and try about 3 pixels to soften the edges. Alternatively, go to Select > Modify > Contract to reduce the selected area by about 2 pixels.
Add a layer beneath with your pinky colour into show any white edges up.
When most of the white is gone, zoom in a lot and use the eraser tool with a small brush and soft edge to tidy up.
Hope that makes sense!

Hi again,
I'm trying to understand what you mean (maybe post up the pic?)
If it's because your image has "fuzzy" or graded edges and its hard to colour in, try using the transparency features in photoshop and add the coloured background as a layer beneath.
I found this tutorial on photoshop masking: http://www.sitepoint.com/article/mask... but there are many others out there.

Hi there,
Using transparency can be a bit fiddly, so the most straightforward and reliable way of doing this is to make all the pixels in the background/border of your image the same colour as the header (or whatever the background colour is for the area you want to place your image).
Just make sure that your finished image size is no more that 190 pixels in height in order to fit in the header (see documentation here: http://wordprezzie.com/icd-guide/).
I hope that helps, let me know if you're still unsure.
