Are you struggling with the Timeline layout?Hi all - this post doesn't need an answer or a solution. It's documenting some issues with the Timeline layout that aren't covered in the Knowledge Base (see Select a Layout for the information available on layouts).
There are several standard features that don't work when the timeline layout is chosen:
1. Most modules other than "recent photos" appear below the main column, not in the sidebar - so consequently don't appear on every page. There are exceptions: "recent posts", and the date-related archives (daily, weekly and monthly archives) appear in the sidebar in two columns.
2. The "recent posts" page only displays one post, whatever "Posts to Display" setting is used.
3. The "featured post" does not display as a featured post.
4. Navigation links are not displayed on the "recent posts" page, whatever "Navigation Links" setting is used.
5. Navigation links are not displayed on category archive pages.
6. Posts are not displayed on archive pages (neither category archives nor date-related archives). Instead, a list of links to the posts is displayed.
Please note - this isn't a complaint! In fact, I'd like to give some kudos to Typepad. I contacted them via a help ticket when I was wrestling with the timeline template and received a clear answer the same day ("... These are the expected behaviors for that template so if you'd like to have more control over the content, we suggest using a Classic template instead. ..."). Thanks, Typepad!-

Hi Nina,
Post editing is working fine for me at the moment. If you go to the posts tab and click on the post you want from the list, you should be able to edit it. Hit publish to update it on your blog.
While you're editing, you can also unfeature the post - there's a tick box to the right, just above the publish button, marked "Feature This Post". Just clear the tick box and publish the post and it will no longer be featured.
Hope this helps! Let us know how you get on.
Helen

Thanks for fixing this so quickly, and thanks Kimmie Nguyen and miz_ginevra for the updates.
Kimmie Nguyen - one question.
I'm a newbie to TypePad so I'm still figuring out the best ways of getting in touch with you guys. I didn't use the Support ticketing system because this looked a lot like a site-wide problem and I figured you wouldn't appreciate getting thousands of tickets about the same thing. It seemed better to flag the problem here, see if anyone else was experiencing it, and then know Support would be able to respond to us all in one place.
Would you prefer all problems to be reported through the ticketing system rather than raised here?

Where have the links for composing and editing pages gone?I've lost the links for composing and editing pages.
My "compose" button no longer has a dropdown allowing me to select "new page" - it's become a simple no-dropdown button that, when clicked, starts a new post.
On my "posts" page I no longer have a "pages" link.
The pages I have created still appear on my blog, but I cannot work out how to edit them or how to add new pages. Is it something I've done or is this a general bug/update? Can anyone tell me how to compose or edit pages without these links? Thanks!
