1.20a Notes & Requests - Great work Songbird!Songbird Team -- 1.2a is the best Songbird release by far & the first one that's completely usable for me. Here's a quick list of the problems that were fixed.
1. Excessive RAM usage (actually fixed w/ 1.0). I'm at 160MB with 80'000 songs, which is perfectly reasonable.
2. No more artists without tracks! 1.1 & 1.1b1 would show artists in the 3-column layout (2Pac, for instance) but wouldn't show any tracks when selected. This is now fixed. Great work!
3. Folder watch & Replay Gain support are great additions! Folder watch actually works for me in 1.2a. It would crash in previous versions.
Now for a couple requests, one of which I hope is really simple.
1. Please allow for multiple watch folders, as well as file-type exclusions.
2. Please allow a View by Album Artist feature in the 3-Column layout. Right now you can only view by Artist or Composer. I have a lot of compilation albums & would love to be able to have an Album Artist column.
Thanks & keep up the good work!

I'm not sure I can be of much more help. I didn't note the version number, since it was an auto-update. I only know that I had been using 7.x.x before (I'm assuming auto-update installed the most current version). The error was such --
Windows Explorer has encountered a fatal error (Process: explorer.exe) & needs to quit, followed by the Send Error Report/Do Not Send Error Report dialog box. If I dismissed that message, explorer.exe would attempt to restart, briefly show the taskbar, and almost immediately crash again. PC Suite was the only program I'd installed in the past couple days, so I assumed that it had caused the problem. System Restore to a previous point proved me correct. Hope that helps!

helvetia reported a problem in Nokia on November 05, 2008 15:41:
PC Suite Crashes Windows XP on latest updateThe latest update of PC Suite (pushed Nov. 4th) resulted in Windows Explorer to crash repeatedly, making the computer unusable. System Restore fixed the problem & I will downgrade to an older version of PC Suite.
Stats:
Windows XP SP3, Dell D610 1.83Ghz, 1.5GB RAM, Nokia PC Suite 7.x.x

What happened to the mini-player for Hype Machine?Version: Songbird 1.1.0pre, Build 817 (20081102012355)
I downloaded the latest nightly & saw that the mini-window that opened at the bottom on Hype Machine & music blogs is gone. Is this permanent or will it come back?

0.8 Nightly shows great improvement!Using the nightly for .8, I've found Songbird's RAM usage has been more than halved to an acceptable 180MB. Now if only Songbird could bring that down even further, I would be thrilled. Still -- excellent progress as you get closer to 1.0!

helvetia replied on October 15, 2008 15:46 to the question "Re-enter bank account info each time a login fails?" in Mint.com:
I completely agree. My banking account (small local bank) fails to connect frequently & every time I want to try again, I'm forced to enter all the security questions along with my password. I'd love to just press the "Try again" method & have the request resent. Another acceptable solution would be to only enter the username & password (as when Citibank fails).-
