Henke replied on July 27, 2009 05:44 to the problem "Can't skip waiting for Wikipedia search results" in Mozilla:
to clarify...
when I type "wiki" (or "wikipedia") the right field shows "Searches Wikipedia" as a description of the command. When I start to type something, for example "a" it changes to "Searching Wikipedia for a ... ". When that starts showing I can hit enter to go directly to Wikipedia, but the thing is that there is a tiny gap before it changes. A tiny gap indeed, but a gap that shouldn't have to be there.
Henke reported a problem in Mozilla on July 26, 2009 20:24:
Can't skip waiting for Wikipedia search resultsWhen using the wikipedia command I type for example "firefox" and hit enter to search for it, but I have to wait for Ubiquity to search Wikipedia for suitable matches before I can hit enter to go to the site. Hitting enter before any search results are presented just closes the Ubiquity window without opening the Wikipedia page.
In the previous versions I just hit enter as soon as I had finished typing and I got directly to the Wikipedia site in the browser, which, in my opinion is better if you know what you are looking for.
I know it's only a matter of one or two seconds, but speed is what Ubiquity is all about, right?
Is there a reason of why it was changed, or is it a bug?
I'm using 0.5.1, but in at least 0.1.9 it seems to work like before.
