I've done some more experimenting, and this might have something to do with the way InDesign exports PDFs that Issuu doesn't like. I tried "printing" to the Adobe PDF printer to produce the PDF, and when uploaded, it didn't have the same problem. It kept all of my vector graphics intact. So there might be a problem with the way Issuu handles PDFs exported from InDesign.

Active Links with ampersand character change when uploaded/convertedI have a PDF document that has active links in it. When I upload it to Issuu, it changes the URLs of the embedded links. The change happens only on ampersand characters (&) in the URL. The ampersands are changed to the HTML code for the ampersand (& with amp;) but this unfortunately breaks all my links. I can see that the URL is changed in the Issuu viewer when I hover over the link. So for example:
http://www.domain.com/some&page
is changed to
http://www.domain.com/some& amp;page (without the space)
My URLs need the true ampersand in order to function properly. Is there a way to fix this?

If you're not happy with the result, you can try and simplify the vector graphics on the mentioned page(s) in the original file and upload again."
I'm using InDesign and exporting in the correct PDF format (v1.5). There are no complex vector graphics in my document, mostly just text. What is the problem that causes the document to be all converted to bitmaps?
