A comment on the problem "URL in Address Bar not change" in Songbird:
When I updated Songbird 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 I had to do a compatibility override. But the latest version of Customize Filter Pane is compatible with Songbird 1.1.2. It is installable.

OK guys! Huh I'm finished! This testing was too long!
First a correction: MiniPlaylist and Recommended Playlists are force installed too.
Customize Filter Pane 0.2.2, Keyboard Ratings 0.3.1.0 and (sometimes) Recommended Playlists 0.5.1.1 cause my problem. If these add-ons (all or just one of them) are enabled the URL Address Bar is stops changing.
Customize Filter Pane usually changes the URL Address Bar into 'about:blank' but sometimes just into the last showed URL.
Keyboard Ratings changes the URL Address Bar into the last showed URL.
Recommended Playlists sometimes changes the URL Address Bar into the last showed. It happened once in my old profile and once in the new one. But later completely disappeared this problem (not permanent).
I tested these add-ons in a new empty profile as well, but they do the same.
And I found something interesting:
Filter Pane (in default) has three filters but with Customize Filter Pane I can add others. I set a fourth filter, but when I disabled Customize Filter Pane that filter didn't disappear.
I have to eat something, I skipped my lunch. I feel empty. :P

OK, I disabled all add-ons and the URL Address Bar works well! :)
I start to test witch add-on does this trouble.
Ps.: But unfortunately Alt+Enter shortcut to open a typed URL in a new tab still doesn't work (even if I try this in a new profile without any add-on). If I remember well it's worked before. Maybe it's changed in the new release.

I had More of the Same 1.0.4 too. After I read your post I uninstalled it, but nothing changed. Time to time appeared this problem to me before as well, but a Songbird restart solved it. But now it's turned into permanent. The last state of the Address Bar is showed all the time.
The URL Address Bar doesn't change (favicon neither) by:
- using bookmarks to open a website,
- double-clicks on tab bar to open home page,
- using home button,
- using a link on a website (opens in current tab or in a new tab),
- switch between tabs (by mouse or by shortcuts),
- reload website (by context menu or by shortcuts).
The URL Address Bar shows only what I type directly in there. If I type for example 'car', car.com website loads but the address bar shows only 'car'.
If I open a new tab using Ctrl+t shortcut or File=>New Tab menu item or context menu=>New Tab menu item an Untitled tab opens and the address bar turns into empty.
What a hell is this? Maybe I use too much add-ons! But this feature what I love in Songbird!
Ps.: Alt+Enter to open a typed URL in a new tab doesn't work too. The site opens in the current tab instead.

I have the same address problem!!
Doesn't matter how do I create tabs or switch them, it happens. Now I restarted my whole system (not only Songbird), but still happens. So looks like my present profile is broke down. I tried a new profile and it works well, yet. This is very annoying, because with a profile change I'll lost all of my ratings, play counting, cover art fetching (because in some case Songbird can't remember cover art; I don't know why) etc...
Last time when I had to change profile because a crash of Songbird I spent more than 5 hours to rebuild my song library. :(

And sometimes if Songbird can load the next song, it starts in full volume level (very very loud)!! In this case if I click on the volume bar of Songbird (or use mouse wheel) it turns immediately to correct volume level. This is really bad!!
It happens all the time with the same songs! System master volume doesn't change, only Songbird volume.
I had no problem with them before!
