Very sensible idea. This would make me relax a lot; but I think there should be some sort of penalty (10%-20%) so that people don't exaggerate the use of limits. To me, it would simply be a measure to hinder complete losses.

Ahhhh,

I wanna have TRIGGERS on my stakes. So I can make them cashing-in whenever a certain level has been reached (either gain or loss)
And maybe TRIGGERS on the options to make stakes automatically whenever the probability get in a certain range.

That would be coooool.

When you can implement that, I can certainly do without a watch-list.

jenni, I wasn't aware of that because my questions don't get void that often ;).

It is not possible to start a new question without that special link though. That could also be helpful to create similar questions in which only details change: DIJA or sports questions for example.

There should be a button labeled "Create New Question based on this one", IMHO.

actually this already exists - i don't know how long they've had it, because i rarely read my void emails, but this one did have a link to my question in the "edit" phase, so i can just make a minor change and publish. – jenniandboys, on June 10, 2008 21:33

Create a market using the data of an existing (maybe already void) market.

As randburg said: "I hope soon that an alternative will be developed by the hubdub programming crew that will allow edits or adjustments to prediction OUTCOMES without having to void a question."

I know it will not be possible to edit existing questions because of the risk of reversing the meaning of the answers. That would be a real mess.
This mechanism could be a compromise.

in all seriousness I think the game is great, however the Tobin-Tax idea for the question creator and the buttons for larger amounts sound very, very good. Oh and bookmarking questions too...
Maybe you could have another tab in 'My Hubdub' that has 'Last 5 Questions seen' (and we could choose between none, five, ten.. etc)

If you’re a Firefox user then you can try Update Scanner. It’s an extension that lets you monitor webpages for changes. You have an option to choose how often the website should be checked for changes, and whether it should ignore the minor ones, such as the changes to numbers.

Jenniandboys is right, the purpose of the new screen is to help new users understand the game. Destry, if you go to Site Settings in My Hubdub (http://www.hubdub.com/p/MySiteSettings) you can select where you want to go after making a prediction (fourth item down). – Tom Griffiths, on April 19, 2008 08:09

Can we please select whether or not we want the new prediction screen. It is a pain in the ass. There is no option to return to question, I have to use back button on browser to go back to question. I don't understand the purpose of the screen, It seems just another chance for us to invite other users to bid on a question.

Another Idea: Make the friends shown on an users profile in random order such that not only the newest five accounts are shown over and over.
