HootSuite replied on April 28, 2009 18:45 to the problem "RSS feeds not being tweeted" in HootSuite:
Hi Lenox,
We looked into this, and there don't appear to be any problems.
HootSuite will only send out *new* posts (i.e. posts that have been published after you added the feed to HootSuite).
Looking at the feeds you've added, it looks like:
* movie_reviews feed was added to HootSuite April 26, but latest post is April 24, so nothing new has gone out
* about.com dating feed was added to HootSuite April 26, but latest post is April 23. Nothing new to send out.
* datingadvicefromagirl feed was added to HootSuite April 26, but latest post is April 15. No new posts to send out.
* flightclub-blog feed was added to HootSuite April 26, but latest post is April 22. Nothing new to tweet.
Once there are some new posts in those feeds, HootSuite should send them out in tweets as expected.
Thanks.

Hi Ed,
If you click on a Twitter user's name, it'll perform a Twitter search in HootSuite for that user's updates on the public timeline.
If you want to see their Twitter profile page itself, mouse over their avatar image. From here, you'll see a pop-up modal window that contains a link to the Twitter profile page itself.

Hi Bill,
Odd that it's not working for you, but is working for others.
We've made some configuration changes that might help things... can you try http://ow.ly now and let us know if it's working for you?
Thanks.

@shon,
You can already follow / unfollow from within HootSuite. Check out the Search tab in an account... you'll notice that tweets there have a "follow" button. You can find people talking about things that interest you and follow them quickly from within HootSuite.
But yes... we're planning on adding other features to manage followers. Definitely on our wishlist!

Hi there,
It looks like you're framing sites with your own branded frame. Ow.ly's toolbar doesn't work well with urls that already have frames/toolbars on them.
In the future, we're planning on having paid accounts, which will enable users to turn off the ow.ly toolbar if they wish.
A couple points about the ow.ly toolbar that might help brand your links:
If you use ow.ly with a non-framed URL, (e.g. http://www.americanbanker.com/btn_art... rather than the http://thefinancialbrand.com/twitters... URL), and you send a tweet through HootSuite, the ow.ly toolbar will show your Twitter profile's avatar and the text of the original tweet.
Since we show the original tweet and your avatar, this effectively lets you brand the link with your Twitter identity.
Plus, the ow.ly bar provides easy tools that allow users to retweet the link, vote on it, and share it via other social networking sites. You're also able to track clicks on ow.ly links that you send through HootSuite.
Hope that helps.

HootSuite replied on April 27, 2009 22:23 to the idea "@reply notification" in HootSuite:
Hi Ed,
That'd be a tricky one. We're able to send out alerts when Pending tweets are sent, because those are stored on our database.
To receive alerts for each @reply, we'd need to poll the Twitter stream constantly, looking for new @replies for each user.
It's a good idea though... we'll continue to think about it.
Thanks for the feedback.
HootSuite replied on April 27, 2009 22:15 to the question "Filter rss by keyword" in HootSuite:
Hi there,
Do you mean you'd like HootSuite to only post links to articles matching a certain keyword?
This would add a processing time to RSS feeds on our end -- a better solution is to feed HootSuite only the items you'd like to be tweeted.
If you're using blogging software, there may be a way to create an RSS feed for only a single category of post.
Also take a look at Yahoo Pipes -- they have features that let you mash up RSS feeds in a bunch of different ways... you can feed in your RSS feed, manipulate it, and then send the resulting feed to HootSuite.
Hope that helps.
